In addition to voter education training and connecting with local elected officials, JLP is a proud sponsor of state legislation that creates opportunity and equality for women. Our league participates in the California State Public Affairs Committee (CalSPAC) which represents 17 leagues throughout California serving over 8,500 women. Our delegates attend conferences and the annual day at the Capitol in Sacramento.
Some of the state legislation in support of women, sponsored/supported by JLP:
▪️AB38 (1997): Established a minimum hour standard of in-patient care after childbirth
▪️AB2878 (2000): Provided breast cancer treatment for uninsured women

▪️My Masterpieces - A Pasadena walking art tour for 2nd graders
▪️Kidspace Museum - In 1979, JLP co-founded the interactive kids museum alongside members of the Caltech community.
