Sotheby’s agents were invited to an exclusive zoom call this morning with Goldman Sachs senior economist Spencer Hill where he outlined the impact of macroeconomic trends on the real estate market and Goldman Sachs’ outlook on the economy. It was an incredibly insightful hour of very positive news for the housing market in 2024. Among many positive indicators, he thought the Fed will most likely start lowering rates this March, and as a result GS is forecasting a 5% increase in housing prices this year and another 4% in 2025. In 28 years of doing real estate I’ve seen a lot of ups and downs and I believe we’re heading for a great 2024!
