Central Illinois Massage for Women
Specializing in providing relief from female-related pain, symptoms, and stress.
"I thought massage was about relaxing?" Yes, it is, but the applications of massage can be helpful in other ways as well 😃
Mercier Therapy is a specific bodywork protocol that has been helpful for those stuck experiencing pelvic pain and the repercussions from it. This is because scar tissue in the pelvis, can be just as uncomfortable and restricting as scar tissue anywhere else in the body. Scar tissue from previous surgeries (i.e. Cesarean, Hysterectomy, D&C) or pelvic conditions (i.e. Endometriosis, PCOS) can restrict blood flow and can cause pain and reduced function. The Mercier Method Protocol is abdominal work to soften and relieve these restrictions while encouraging circulation to promote more pain free function.
Exciting news! 🎉
My small business had the privilege to demo some self-care hacks with Kyreon Lee TV on WMBD's Mom Hacks segment. This is so exciting because I got to talk about how I combine customized massage, personalized self-care recommendations, and community resource connections to make the lives of all women a bit easier.
Self-care is so important, but it shouldn't have to take a lot of time or effort. This is the goal I strive for with every single woman that walks through my doors and I am so thrilled I got the chance to talk about this on a bigger platform. Thank you Kyreon and WMBD for letting me share a bit about what I do and for advocating for the importance of women's self-care!
Mom Hacks: Enjoy some ‘me time’ with massage therapy (WMBD) — Calling all moms and women! This week’s Mom Hacks is for you. Day-to-day life can be extremely busy, and sometimes we forget to slow down, relax and unwind. Kyreon Lee visited …
Golden hour in the treatment room at CIMFW ✨
I love helping women in any stage of life, whether they have children or not. The initial weeks of being postpartum are so special and I appreciate any woman who lets me care for them during that time.
Studies show those who are pregnant and women as a whole experience anxiety more frequently than others. Not to mention, with the amount of anxiety that has been on the rise the past few weeks, I wanted to emphasize the soothing elements of my massage sessions this month. In September I would normally diffuse notes of cinnamon, cedarwood and frankincense to correlate with fall. Instead this soothing blend helps to ease your anxiety as we work on your areas of tension and pain. Save this blend if you're looking to recreate this aroma at home.
A sneak peek into my new space ☺️
I was SO scared to move after enduring the COVID shutdown, but it's been amazing thus far. Most importantly, I feel like this space has improved upon one of my core values of providing a safe space for my clients. A safe space where, yes, they can have a break from physical pain and tension, but also a break from things like heartache, intrusive thoughts, or their neverending to do list. A space where it's no problem if they haven't shaved, their feet are dry, or if they have stretch marks. In this space, you have permission to just be 🌿
✨ Happy Mother's Day! ✨
Don't you just love Spring? The aroma I have been diffusing in my office this month has a clarifying, yet sweet scent that reminds me of early Spring.
Hopefully you are enjoying this season, and all that comes with it (such as rain, warmer temps, and budding flowers). Save this blend for the next time you're looking for a simple, yet uplifting scent at home.
What are some of the reasons why you would want massage therapy during your newly postpartum weeks? 🤰
Check out this explainer below! ⬇️ Next Monday, I'll talk more about WHEN after delivering are you able to receive bodywork to help in your recovery.
Where do you HOLD your stress?
When clients enter my office at the beginning of an appointment, we often talk about where their emotional stress tends to manifest physically. Whether it's personal, professional, or pandemic stress it can all manifest in your muscles and, unfortunately, create pain, discomfort, and tension. Surprise! Jaw pain can often come from tension in the muscles of your jaw. These small muscles get neglected and can tense up throughout the the day and even while you sleep!
What can you do?
1. Self-massage around your jaw and cheekbones with your favorite moisturizer in the evenings.
2. Warm compresses applied to aching jaw muscles. Moist heat penetrates deeper than dry!
3. Schedule a 30 minute session CIMFW.com to focus on getting expert relief and your personalized self-care plan.

About CIMFW
Hi there! My name is Pamela and I am a licensed massage therapist and owner of Central Illinois Massage for Women. I spent five years working in hospitality management after receiving my BA from Boston University. While I had initially enjoyed my career, the stresses of a 24/7 industry left me with a non-existent personal life, no time to focus on my health/well-being, and just generally burnt-out.
After relocating to rural Illinois, I completed my LMT training at Illinois Central College in order to help other women who experience pain, stress and burnout like I once had. My clinical approach to women’s health and well-being focuses on developing a personalized plan of massage, corrective exercises, and self-care instruction that will help you feel better in the long-term. Whether you are suffering from aches and pains such as headaches and back pain, currently expecting, adjusting to life with a newborn, or going through menopause, I created Central Illinois Massage for Women to make your life a little bit easier.
