Teamsters Local 115
Creating opportunity since 1955.
Whether its fliers, brochures or postcards, we will all see a variety of mailings arriving at our home mailboxes this fall.
When you do receive mail like this, take a look to see if the item has been printed at a union shop like the ones on this post.
Candidates that support working families use unionized printing facilities, as they have for years, to reliably print and mail out campaign materials.

Teamsters Vote 2020
Over the past decade, pro-corporate lawmakers have worked to curb the rights of workers, undermining our ability to fight for fair wages, better benefits, and a voice in the workplace. So this November, Teamsters must exercise their own right – to send these lawmakers packing.
To find out more about the Teamsters’ demands for union rights, go to www.teamstersvote.com. And remember to vote this November!
Union Workers for Biden Phone Bank · 2020 Victory
The Teamsters endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris because we can trust them to have our back. Now we need to have theirs – that’s why the union is encouraging all members to get involved in this important election.
One way to get involved is for members to join the weekly “Union Members for Biden-Harris Phone Bank” every Saturday at 1:00pm ET until the election.
This a 100% volunteer effort for Teamsters to help turn out the vote for Biden-Harris. The phone bank will start with a training and then members will start calling voters in swing states.

Power the Polls
Power the Polls is first-of-its-kind effort to recruit poll workers to fill the gap created by COVID-19 and ensure our election is safe, fair and efficient. This is a nonpartisan, nonprofit effort. This isn’t about a candidate or issue; it’s about supporting the free and fair elections at the heart of our democracy.
Union members know how important democracy is—in our workplaces and our government. If there aren’t enough poll workers for Election Day, that will mean fewer locations, longer lines and more confusion, especially in working-class neighborhoods and communities of color.
Teamsters have a critical role to play in this election. And one of the best ways is to become a poll worker and make sure every Teamster and every other eligible voter can vote safely, fairly and efficiently.

PennDOT resumes issuing Real ID, deadline pushed to Oct 2021
From Billy Penn: After a pandemic pause, PennDOT has resumed issuing Real IDs, the security-enhanced version of a state-issued driver’s license.
The Department of Homeland Security mandated the new identification via the Real ID Act, with an original deadline of this fall. That’s been pushed back a year because of the Coronavirus, and is now Oct. 1, 2021 for all states.
Do you really need one? No, but people who don’t upgrade won’t be able to use their licenses to board a plane or enter a military facility.

Attention members voting in Philadelphia:
The City Commissioners have approved the opening of satellite election offices throughout Philadelphia, in addition to the two existing County Board of Election offices. This creates additional locations across the city where residents can register to vote, request a mail-in ballot in-person, receive their ballot, vote, and return it, all in one visit. In addition, voters can drop off their already voted ballot at any of the locations.
All the offices will be open 7 days a week starting September 29th, and will remain open through Election Day (November 3rd). The hours of operation are as follows: 11:30am to 6:30pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9:30am to 4:30pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

HEROES > HYPOCRISY
The HEROES Act has been sitting on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s desk for 129 days. Justice Ginsburg’s seat has been vacant for three. Which should the Senate get to work on now?
The Senate can’t throw up its hands when it comes to COVID-19 relief, yet vow to do whatever it takes to fast-track a new Supreme Court nomination—especially when it refused to even grant a hearing for President Obama's nominee eight months before the election.
