Congratulations to my friend, colleague, and practicum student Davida Bolger on receiving her licensure of professional counselor for the state of Pennsylvania. I had a blast celebrating your achievement and dancing with you.

Today was a 73 mile bike day, training for my first Dualthon.. run 6.2 miles… bike 150 and run 18.2 ( basically run a marathon and bike 150miles… small feat). I’ve done marathons and 1/2 marathons… it’s time for a new challenge. Let’s go!

I have spent the last two weeks with over 100 colleagues at Manhattan College in NYC, attending the Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies. The Buttimer Institute of Lasallian Studies is a 3-year intensive Lasallian education and formation program that studies the life, work, and spirituality of Saint John Baptist de La Salle and the origins of the Lasallian educational mission. By examining the writings of De La Salle and analyzing some modern educators, we were able to develop a deeper understanding of the Lasallian heritage and its influence on contemporary education and spirituality.
I had an amazing time learning, sharing, and laughing with my classmates as we completed our second year. In our class, we represented 11 countries(Austria, Canada, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, and the USA); we are continuing to expand the work of St. John Baptist de La Salle.

I have always been a singer but this year I discovered that I can play the bongos and I am really, really good...lol. I am already looking forward to seeing my classmates next June when we will complete our last class of this 3-year commitment.

I’m having a great time with my colleagues at the New York Yankees game. We are winding down two weeks together at the Buttimer Institute . Thanks to our hosts at Manhattan College for the hospitality.

Knowing that the information and stories shared by my participants wasn’t just for me, I picked up it again a few months ago and submitted it for publication. Great time being a part of this panel today at the ALARA conference held at Rutgers University-Camden, with Dr. Walter Greason, Dr. Trent McLaurin and Dr. Keith Green. Dr. McLaurin and I presented on “Power To The People, When You See Me See You “ we discussed the Mentoring and Advocacy Program for Black Students that we’ve developed at LaSalle University.

Excited to officially announce that a few months ago I signed a book contract with the American Psychological Association to write a book for individuals that identify as adolescent males. The book will focus on s*xuality, s*x, race, culture, and being yourself.

I’m looking forward to writing with my co-author Dr. Karen Rayne, a book that will be educational, transformative, and beneficial to young adolescents, parents, and educators.
