Today, we're reminiscing about a past project at St. Johnโs Town Center in Jacksonville, Florida!
We had the privilege of helping expand this premier lifestyle center with the addition of Nordstrom, bringing 30,000 SF of new retail space to the vibrant shopping destination. Our team handled the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design, along with site utilities, fire alarms, and building management systems.
We were grateful to collaborate with Simon Property Group, BHM Architects, and England, Thims & Miller Inc., to enhance the shopping experience at St. Johnโs Town Center.
The impact of this project is still felt today, and weโre proud to have been a part of it. ๐โจ

This phase of redevelopment brought high-profile retailers like Arhaus, L.L.Bean, and Sweetgreen to the mall, enhancing the community's shopping and dining experience. The multimillion-dollar transformation, which began in 2017, includes a renovated Dining Pavilion, outdoor seating, and a community stage, making Northshore Mall a vibrant social hub.
Overall, the project helped the client achieve a more modern appearance and improved customer experience at the mall.

We are thrilled to share the plans for a transformative $100 million project for the Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia! Avenue of the Arts, Inc. has teamed up with the architectural firm Gensler and OJB landscape architects and Langan to reimagine South Broad Street, creating a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly arts hub. Wick Fisher White joins this team as MEP Engineers on the project.
Project Highlights Include:
๐ณ Extensive greenery with raised beds for trees and shrubbery
๐ช New seating areas for outdoor dining and relaxation
๐จ Spaces for art installations and pop-up performances
๐ถโ Wider, safer sidewalks to enhance the pedestrian experience
๐ฝ๏ธ More Room for outdoor venues such as restaurants, artwork, sculpture, and pop-up performances
This ambitious project, led by developer Carl Dranoff, marks a significant upgrade to the Avenue of the Arts, first established in 1993. It will be implemented in phases, starting in early 2025 with the 300 block of South Broad Street, home to the Kimmel Center and Dranoff new ArtHaus building.
The plan breaks down the 10 blocks from City Hall to Washington Avenue into three unique zones, each tailored to its specific characteristics, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for all visitors.
We look forward to helping make the Avenue of the Arts a premier cultural destination for generations to come. Letโs bring new life to South Broad Street together!

Wick Fisher White is proud to have partnered with Arrowstreet to deliver a premier athletic training facility for Action Athletics!
Located on Guest Street in Boston, this 3,800 SF center on the first floor of a multi-story building features everything from a warped wall to obstacles inspired by American Ninja Warrior. Our team performed the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design for the center which included an open training area, bathrooms, showers, and offices.

Project Complete!
Shoppers World is an open-air shopping center located in Framingham, MA, and is positioned in the largest retail destination in the Boston area. The center underwent a redevelopment project encompassing the demolition and reconstruction of existing structures to create new modern retail spaces, including a grocery store, retail buildings, and a Starbucks drive-thru.
On projects like these extensive coordination is required with the landlord's tenant team and retailers to ensure individual requirements and standards are met.
We were privileged to be a part of the team to help the successful realization of this project!

**Project Spotlight: Big Picture Charter School**
In 2023, Wick Fisher White teamed up with Shift Capital and KSS Architects to revitalize an abandoned historic building in Philadelphia, PA. Our team provided comprehensive MEP design and construction administration services to transform this 22,000 sq ft former manufacturing facility into the vibrant Big Picture Charter School. The renovation included modern classrooms, administrative offices, a kitchen, a multi-purpose room, academic support spaces, and new building entrances. New HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and telecom systems were provided throughout, and existing sprinkler systems were modified extensively for the new layout.
Phase 1 was completed earlier this year, and Phase 2 is anticipated in 2026 in conjunction with the school's projections for enrollment growth.

Marketing & BD Manager, Jessica J. Thornton and Electrical Engineer, Laura Savage Esquirell attended the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Philadelphia End of Year Celebration & Scholarship Dinner on Thursday, May 23rd at the Academy of Natural Sciences.
At the event, 100K in scholarships were given to 11 recipients. Students also showcased their team projects. Jessica had the privilege of presenting two scholarships on behalf of CREW Greater Philadelphia.

It was a great day at the Ballpark on Monday as we had the privilege of participating in the American Heart Association Home Run Derby Fundraiser at Citizen's Bank Park.
The Hard Hats with Hearts Homerun Derby is a campaign focused on improving the health and well-being of the construction community. Participants had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take swings from home plate at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies.
VP, Matthew Cofone, who sits on the Executive Committee stresses the importance of raising awareness of cardiovascular disease among the construction community.

Electrical Engineer, Laura Savage, was recently invited back to her alma mater, Temple University to be a judge for the College of Engineering's Senior Design Poster Competition.
She had the privilege of interviewing students about their senior design projects and also providing feedback on the team with the best overall design and ex*****on of their projects. She was impressed as she saw teams tackle solutions to problems that included many different engineering disciplines. Highlights included stormwater management, building automation, battery design, structural analysis, aerospace and bridge design. Great job to all of the students!!
