It's now easier to call Bainbridge Street Barrel House.

Just to let ever know we have made the unfortunate decision to close the restaurant indefinitely. It has been a struggle for us since opening back up after Covid. We have tried to make it work but it simply wasn’t happening. We feel like we have failed our employees. To all of the guests that we have become friends with over the years we say “thank you” your support has been truly humbling. To all the employees we have had over the years we owe you a debt of gratitude for all your hard work that you’ve done for the Barrel House. We would like to say we will be back but we don’t know what the future holds. We don’t see a way back during this pandemic for us. Some places are doing good, some really well. We where not that fortunate, we tried our best but came up short. We have failed. Covid-19 has claimed another victim. We wish all of you well and stay safe. We hope to see you all again.

A Statement From the Barrel House:
Yesterday was one of the hardest days ever for us here at the Barrel House. For seven plus years we have put everything we could into making our place feel like your home. Inviting you guys to become family. Like any family, we have not always been perfect, there have been times we have dropped the ball. Also like every family we have had our share of ups & downs, but we have persevered. Today we, along with everyone else, face an unprecedented new challenge, Covid-19. Local governments all over the country have closed so many non-essential business or forced them to scale back operations. We believe that restaurants/ pubs are essential not only to the employees who rely on them for income but to the communities they serve. We grow with the families around us, supporting them as much as they support us. They are as much a part of us as we are them. We have watched family's kids get older as they have seen ours grow as well. You have watched our oldest daughter work with us while she has taken her first steps into true adulthood. You have seen our youngest daughter grow, from hanging out in a play pen to running around & climbing all over the banquets. Some of you have probably seen her at one of the tables with her toys & coloring books spread out all around her. We have seen couples have 1st dates to anniversaries to the births of their babies to even couples who share in the adoption of their babies with us.
We feel like you all have embraced us in so many ways that we can never truly repay. You have allowed us to feed you while allowing us to follow our dreams, to feed our families and provide for our own families. This has meant more to us then words can express. We love this restaurant & our community.
We appreciate any and all of the employees who have walked through our doors. They have all contributed to us in one way or another.
Yesterday was a hard day. We started with business as usual & ended with uncertainty. We are uncertain if we will be able to come back. Uncertain what will happen to our employees with out an income. We don't know if or when the closure will be allowed to end or have any idea how/ if the restaurant landscape will change.
Yesterday was a hard day. We invited our staff in for a few drinks and possibly our last family meal together. We spent extra time there cleaning and generally putsing around afraid that when we turned off the lights & locked the door that it might be for the last time. We simply don't know. We, meaning I, cried a little with the employees unsure of how to reassure them that we will get through this. It breaks our heart to hear them tell us that we have been good bosses, that we have given them some stability, that we have helped them through some tough times, only to leave this way.
We have not failed on our own accord, yet we fall victim. We will do everything we can to make sure we get though this unprecedented detour in our journey together. We will do everything in our power to make sure that we, along with our employees, continue to move forward collectively. We will not allow them to fall back or behind.
Thank you so much for your support over the years and in the future.
