A big thank you to our friends and supporters at Earnhardt Auto Centers. They were a presenting sponsor of the 100.7 KSLX “Need to Feed” Food Drive, which raised over 150,000 meals last week, but their generosity didn’t stop there. On Tuesday, the entire Earnhardt family visited St. Mary's Food Bank and presented President and CEO, Milt Liu, with a $73,000 donation to mark their 73 years in business. This incredible gift will provide an additional 360,000 meals for our neighbors in need – "And that ain't no bull!"
Thank you, Earnhardt Auto Centers, for your continued support of St. Mary’s Food Bank.

These hard workers packed 31 pallets of our senior boxes which will provide more than 30,000 meals. Their donation covered the food they packed. Thank you HDR for sponsoring your volunteer shift.

Thank you friends of all kinds - volunteers, financial supporters, food drive participants, board members, partner agencies, community leaders…. The list of friends is endless - and, unfortunately, so is the list of those in need.

These auctions will provide more than 70,000 meals for St. Mary’s and we couldn’t appreciate the efforts of these artists and Danny Zelisko Presents for their tireless efforts to feed Arizona’s hungry. Danny’ auctions have provided more than 425,000 meals in just 2024 alone. Thank you to all and let’s keep rocking!
Mark your calendar — Phoenix Canstruction is returning for its 17th year!
Join us this Saturday, Aug. 3, inside the Arrowhead Towne Center (7700 West Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale), to watch 11 teams compete to build impressive structures made from 40,000 unopened cans of food that will later be DE-canstructed and donated to St. Mary’s Food Bank!
With your donation of just $1, you can vote for your favorite tower of tin! Your $1 provides five meals to our neighbors who struggle to put food on the table. Last year, more than $10,000 in voting resulted in more than 50,000 meals.
All 11 structures will be displayed from Aug. 3-16. Together we CAN DO® something to alleviate hunger in our communities.
We are SO HONORED and PROUD to partner with our great friends at Southwest Gas Corporation!
Wanted to share this heartfelt thank you from Harvest Compassion Center/Mitchell Swaback Charities Inc.: "We are incredibly thankful for the new refrigerated van made possible by St. Mary's Food Bank, which enables Harvest Compassion Center to transport fresh and frozen food in Arizona's summer heat. Before, we didn't have a refrigerated van, so we were limited in the types of food we could pick up, the times of day we could operate, and how far we could travel with the food. It’s been a game-changer knowing that we can now accept additional food rescue pickups with refrigerated transport! Thank you, St. Mary's, for always looking out for the needs of your agency partners." - Nicolee Thompson, Executive Director
The St. Mary’s Food Bank child nutrition team celebrated its 10th year of participating in the "Back to School Clothing Drive" at the Grand Canyon University Arena. Over three days, we provided approximately 3,000 meals to high-need kids in the Phoenix metro area. These kids were invited to shop for free at the arena, where they could get new clothes, shoes, backpacks, school supplies, books, personal care packs, and dental exams. Additionally, they received a free meal from our Child Nutrition Kids Cafe Program before leaving. During the event, our team worked with generous volunteers to assemble and distribute the meals to the students on site.
Thank you, Chick-fil-A for your amazing donation to St. Mary’s Food Bank that will help the child and family feeding programs. Your contribution will help provide 250,000 meals, significantly increasing access to nutritious food for children and their families in our community. Your support is bringing us closer to creating a healthier future for our neighbors in need.
How cool is this? Gila River Resorts & Casinos donated more than $61,000 throughout the last year from their patrons. We were thrilled to accept this gift and show them around the warehouse to see how their gift will impact so many Arizonans. They were especially interested and excited to learn about our many volunteer opportunities and our food box program, including our Tribal Food Box, which includes culturally relevant items sourced from vendors on the Navajo Nation. The Everi Cares donation program gift will help us provide more than 300,000 meals to our neighbors in need. PLUS- how fun are these signs?!
Friends helping Friends! The nonprofit community here in Phoenix is STRONG! Today, Ballet Arizona came out to help fill a volunteer shift. Not only did they work HARD to pack boxes, they brought tremendous energy to the food bank! Their work is helping us feed so many people!
Knight Transportation is dedicated to making a difference in the communities in which they live and work. St. Mary's Food Bank is honored to be a recipient of proceeds from their 2023 Knight-Swift Charity Golf Classic which provided 100,000 meals. To celebrate, a group of summer interns in the Knight-Swift management development program came out to volunteer. Together, they packed 1,800 backpacks that will go to children that lack access to healthy food.

Watching the team sorting food from food drives at our Surprise Neighborhood Food Center was so awesome. This will help us get food out to our neighbors in need. 💪❤️
Thank you, Amazon, for showing what it means to give back. We can’t wait to see you next time!
Happy Fourth of July!🎆

Thank you to the gracious Justin Hayward for signing one of the nicest guitars we have ever auctioned – a 2011 60th anniversary Fender Telecaster – before Wednesday’s show Celebrity Theatre. St. Mary’s will be able to distribute enough food for 32,500 meals thanks to his generosity, which included a personal note to the winner describing his personal connection to this guitar over the years. Thank you as always to Danny Zelisko Presents who have helped us provide over 160,000 meals in just the past two weeks with Tesla, Todd Rundgren, Joe Jackson, and Justin Hayward all signing guitars for the World’s First Food Bank. Keep your eye out for the next auction, coming soon!
The Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) has truly championed our fight against hunger. For more than 10 years, they’ve collected an incredible 7,293 pounds of food, providing 6,078 meals to those in need. 🙌
In one month, DES helped pack 1,440 emergency food boxes and 1,008 senior boxes, ensuring that our community is well-supported.
Thank you, DES, for your support! Together, we’re making a real "meal" of a difference. ❤️
It was a historic day at our Surprise Neighborhood Food Center on June 25 when St. Mary's Food Bank welcomed friends and neighbors for a ribbon-cutting of our new Neighbor Choice Pantry.
Now, our neighbors in need have a choice! They can elect to receive a pre-made grocery cart of food, OR, select the items of their choice, assisted by a volunteer in a mini-grocery store setup.
Special thanks to our great friends from Sprouts Farmers Market for helping us create a small grocery produce section, Surprise Mayor Skip Hall, Councilmember Alyson Cline and all of our friends and supporters who came out to mark this great next step to help our neighbors in need.
Great to have a group from HelloFresh including Sustainability and Social Impact Manager, Kelsey Frandsen, in the house yesterday to help distribute food and Hello Fresh meals to more than 1,000 families at our Phoenix Neighborhood Food Center. Through its “Meals with Meaning” program, Hello Fresh has provided more than one million meals to St. Mary’s Food Bank over the past two years and more than six million pounds since partnering with the World’s First Food Bank in 2021.
Thank you Hello Fresh for helping to close the summer hunger gap for families in Arizona.
