Let's go Irish!!!☘️🏈
Stop by Boondocks Tempe to watch the game, enjoy the food & drinks, and cheer on the Irish with fellow alumni, fans, family, and friends!! Don't forget to bring your non-perishable items for the Meals with Muffet food drive or donated via link in bio.
Go Irish! Beat Cardinals!!
We don't usually do this, but our good friends Malik Zaire and the Lucky Lefty Podcast are doing a Watch Party in North Scottsdale for the Louisville game and helping us collect food for St. Mary's Food Bank! If you can't make it down to Boondocks Tempe, here's an alternative in North Scottsdale!
Reminder 📣
This Saturday (9/28) is the final collection day for the Meals with Muffet food & fund drive for St. Mary's Food Bank.
As a reminder about the program:
during September, which is National Hunger Action Month, our Notre Dame Club of Phoenix is teaming up with the Notre Dame Alumni Association, Coach McGraw, Bread of Life Drive, and Holtz’s Heroes to help feed our neighbors in need. In the United States, more than 37 million people — including 11 million children — are food insecure.
Locally, we’ll be collecting donations — both food and monetary donations — to support St. Mary's Food Bank. On September 28th, bring your dry and canned goods to our game watch (12:30pm ND vs. Louisville) at Boondocks Tempe (1024 E. Broadway Rd, Tempe, AZ 85282). Can't make the game watch? No problem, you can donate online via the link in bio!
While all donations are appreciated, some items are in higher demand. Consider donating peanut butter, canned fruit, canned soup, canned protein, canned vegetables, rice & beans, cereal, and pasta to make the most significant impact.
Let's close out September with a bang and help make an impact on our neighbors in need!
Phoenix family! If you’re going to be on campus for the Louisville game, come to our joint tailgate with the El Paso Club and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! We’ll be in the Joyce Lot, look for the Phoenix Club flag! Also, please RSVP, so we know how much food to bring! Go Irish! Beat Cardinals!
Purdidn’t. 66-7 Irish! ☘️
Game day as the Irish hit the road for Purdue!☘️🏈
The club's primary game watch is at Boondocks Tempe, & the West Valley game watches will continue at Tailgaters in Surprise. Let's cheer on the Irish and bring home a win!
Also, don't forget that to help build awareness for National Hunger Month (September), we will be collecting non-perishable items and funds at every game watch at Boondocks during the month of September for the St. Mary's Food Bank in conjunction with the Meals for Muffet initiative. Can't make it in person? Donate online via link in bio or scan the QR code.

Hearts & Hands monthly service event☘️
We had our largest group yet this month!! Thanks to everyone for coming out and joining in the fun and a special thank you to all the kiddos that showed up too!! Love seeing the kids get into the crafting and the adults having just as much fun bringing out their inner child crafty selves!
It may not seem like much, but these cards make a big impact on the SVDP guests and the unhoused community. It shows we care and are thinking of them, and sometimes that's all it takes to brighten someone’s day! We hope more of you come out to join us for our next event on September 7th! It's family-friendly and indoors so you can escape the heat and serve the community at the same time!

Hello from the West Valley,
As you are aware we have switched our game watch location for the West Valley this year to Tailgaters here in Surprise. To refresh everyone's memory, Tailgaters is located at 15529 W. Bell Rd in the Mountain Vista Plaza at the corner of Bell and Reems.
With the opening game against Texas A&M fast approaching, Sharon and I would like to invite you to join us at Tailgaters on Saturday, August 17th from 2:00pm - 4:00pm for a pre game get together. We feel this will be a great opportunity to get together and reconnect after a long, hot summer. This will also be an opportunity for you to familiarize yourselves with our new game watch location. We are excited about the upcoming season and our new gathering place to watch ND football.
Thanks and hope to see you there. GO IRISH!

Maggie's Place Pampering Shower☘️
We had an amazing event today celebrating the moms at Maggie’s Place.
We had food catered, played some shower games, and shared her gift with the moms for our activity today. She started with some movement (we got up & danced), then they wrote down some things for which they are grateful, did some chair yoga, and then moved on to a reflection segment, and finished with a short choreo to a beautiful Afropop song with empowering lyrics about pursuing one's dreams despite detractors and other people's negative opinions.
For the privacy of the moms, we won't share any other photos from the event, but know it was a special day for all of us 💞💖
Also sharing photos from our gift bag packing event we had last weekend with fellow NDWC members. Thank you to everyone who joined to help put the bags together and to everyone who donated items, including some amazing slippers from that were a huge hit with the moms!!
ND SENIOR LUNCH☘️
What a great lunch at Keegan's Grill on Friday!
Many great stories were shared, and while some were of ND, many were of other things. Special thanks to Chuck for sharing his story about Father Emil J. Kapaun, who served in Korea like Chuck, and Father's journey to sainthood. This lunch was very special and we look forward to our next one on August 16th.
Our next ND "SENIOR" Lunch will resume at Keegan's Grill, 3114 E. Camelback Rd, Phoenix, 85016, in the back room (while we are still in the 100+ degree days), Friday, August 16th at NOON.
One last thought: Jim S. told a funny story about how the Irish Guard was formed....may have been a legend....may have been fact. But as the newspaper publisher said, in the movie, "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance", "When the truth gets in the way, print the legend...."
Contact Tom Ross to join the next one or to get on his email list, and check the newsletter to RSVP.
Dinner Service at André House☘️
We had a great group of current students, alumni, and family members participate today! We started by chopping up ingredients for the salads, buttering bread, and cutting up desserts for the dinner, and then we got assignments for the actual service hour.
Some volunteers were assigned to the lines, to the dining hall and the St. Francis room, to the dishwasher, and Nick smashed it in the pit tonight!!
For those who may not be familiar with them, the André House serves approximately 1000 people daily through all the services of providing clothing, laundry, showers, and personal care items. Six nights a week, volunteers from all over Phoenix provide a nutritious dinner to approximately 500-700 homeless and hungry guests.
We had a great time serving the guests and spending our afternoon with a heart of service, and we look forward to having more club members join us in the future!
Spreading the love & positive vibrations 💖💞✨️
Spending our Saturday morning this holiday weekend with a heart of service at the Hearts & Hands event at St. Vincent de Paul.
We started by making cards to go in lunch sacks that will be distributed to the unhoused, then teams participated in the pantry challenge coming up with creations using the donations we all brought today. While they did the pantry challenge, we stuffed baggies with chips for the lunch sacks.
The shift goes by so quickly, and it's such a fun way to make a difference in the community while working indoors during this summer heat! It's family friendly and kids of all ages are welcome with adult! The activities change each month, and depending on the volunteers who sign up to join us, we can select specific ones to participate in that day. This is our standing monthly service event the first Saturday of every month, and I look forward to having more of you join us in the coming months!
