Kennywood Day 2024 was a BLAST! We loved getting everyone together and meeting up in different areas of the park. Having all the FC families together enjoying the BBQ and going on rides together made for an incredible day for the FC community and it was so nice to have all the different age groups exploring and enjoying the day together. Joe Câs favorite ride of the day was Cosmic Chaos and Wesley enjoyed their time in Kiddieland! Back at the pavilion, we celebrated June birthdays with cake and cookies, and ate burgers and hot dogs while closing out another fantastic annual FC Kennywood Day. Although it wasnât the sunniest, our day was filled with food, friends, and fun and we canât wait to do it all again next year!

Our 2024 Purim Party was full of laughing, dancing, and good fun this past weekend! Some of our very talented members showcased their talents for a crowd, including Grunnuh B with some martial arts and Brandon C breaking down some dance moves for us. Others showed some magic tricks, told jokes, hoverboarded, showed cool skip it and pogo stick tricks, sang, and read a story! We all had fun with our yummy pizza and candy while we decorated groggers, made some scratch art, and played some co****le. We celebrated March Birthdays with cake and ended the party with a Costume Showcase where members were able to walk across the stage sporting their outfits. Thanks to all for a great time and a happy Purim, it was so nice seeing how talented we all are and we canât wait to do it all over again next year!
The snow did not stop the fun on Sunday Funday! This past weekend, FC was full of builders who helped create lego carousel kits and a robot with Girls of Steel from CMU. Members loved following steps to build moving carousels and used teamwork to construct and build the robot together. Ariel drew a fun tiger on his rainbow scratch crown and Menucha Leah made a beautiful flower crown. We also enjoyed group games in the great room and playing with the big parachute and hula hoops. Canât wait to see all the craft crowns we made at our upcoming Purim Party!
This weekâs sports league was super fun. In Squirrel Hill, we played our first-ever FC dodgeball game. We also built hula hoop forts for a great night. In the South Hills, we hosted our second Levys league, where we played the classic game of kickball. We canât wait for our next sports league.
Friends on the Town went on a trip to Cool Springs this weekend and it was a total par-tee! Friends were able to test out the sports simulator and play fun games including zombie dodgeball, football, and hockey. We loved cheering our friends on during their times at the simulator. We also had our own bays to hit golf balls off of. Cece created her own style of golf that included hitting two golf balls at once. Logan loved playing Uno Josh and Sofia.

Our last session of Art Club ended with tons of gift giving where members made each other and traded some Diamond Gem sticker crafts and bookmarks. We also chose from some pre-drawn canvas to make some oil pastel creations on. Members loved using paint pens to create little trinket dishes and some people made fun dishes to hold their jewelry and to hold game pieces! We have all loved getting creative together and exploring different art mediums throughout the year, canât wait to do more art together!
Did someone say Bocce Ball? This month, we kicked off our winter sports leagues. At Squirrel Hill, we played flag football, led by our awesome host committee. Over the river at the South Hills JC, we played bocce as kicked off of Levyâs League, where we honored Jonathan Levy, a long-time friend of The Friendship Circle. Thank you to all the friends and family of Jonathan and FC alumni who came out for the program!
Family Fun was a sunny day out in our back lot where our youngest friends got together to talk to local firefighters from the Pittsburgh Fire Department and got to explore a fire truck! Members made gratitude cards for PFD, enjoyed some balloon twisting, created rice design crafts, and of course loved getting to be together for a music circle and story time. Elmo also made an appearance and everyone got to snap some polaroids to make lasting memories! We loved getting to celebrate Emerson Mâs birthday and hang with our junior friends at Family Fun. Canât wait for the next one in June!!
Throwing it back to Winter Camp! Winter Camp 2023 was a ton of fun with our members Under 18! We started off Day 1 by jumping and having a blast at Urban Air Adventure Park. Members enjoyed the zip line, ropes course, bumper cars, and trampolines. For Day 2, we got to ice skate at Hunt Armory Ice Rink and we put our minds to the test by creating robots and lego structures with Girls of Steel. We finished up Day 3 of Winter Camp with lawn games, bounce houses, inflatable games, and a super cool galaxy art workshop. Members got to take home cosmic illustrations and streamer tinfoil âcometsâ. Thanks to all our friends who made it such a fun week and looking forward to another magical year!
