Calling all of Pittsburgh’s tiniest dancers! 🌟
Join us for “The Joy of Ballet” Open House this Sunday, April 21. This afternoon at the studio is filled with tutus, pointe shoes, and pirouettes of joy. From learning how to make ballet buns to trying on pointe shoes, there’s something for everyone, ages 18 months to 8 years. Hit your favorite position and pose with a real ballerina and shine brightly in a special dance performance at the end! Don’t miss out on this magical experience.

Dancers will work closely with our esteemed faculty and company artists learning repertoire, broadening their artistic range with the choreographic process, capitalizing on their established training and more. Recently, the U.S. Mint began releasing a crucial piece of currency to the world of ballet, the Maria Tallchief quarter. A member of the Osage Nation and groundbreaker in American ballet, this breathtaking ballerina now takes her place defying gravity on the U.S. Quarter.

With a coin given to each dancer in we are thrilled to share this piece of history with you.

Explore the boundaries of movement with local choreographer, Jennifer Archibald. Join for the first of four Master Classes in this series!

Known for incorporating dynamic partnering, glimpses of emotion and placing trust in her dancers, Jennifer provides space for the growth of each dancer. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

Jennifer Archibald () is the founder and Artistic Director of the Arch Dance Company and Program Director of ArchCore40 Dance Intensives. Archibald has choreographed for Atlanta Ballet, Ailey II, Cincinnati Ballet, Ballet Memphis, Kansas City Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Ballet Nashville, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre and worked commercially for Tommy Hilfiger, NIKE and MAC Cosmetics.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Nutcracker season! Kick off the holidays by experiencing the magic of The Nutcracker performed by PBT School students in Phipps' historic glasshouse.

We're sending a warm PBT welcome to our newly announced Executive Director, Nicholas Dragga. Nick is currently with Ballet Lubbock, and officially joins us on November 1. He'll be at the theater for our season opener, Light in the Dark, from Oct. 27-29 at the Byham. Be sure to say hello when you see him in the lobby!

Thursday, August 24, from 6-7:30 p.m., we are hosting a FREE PLACEMENT CLASS day at PBT School to provide young dancers the opportunity to trial our classes and receive a class-level placement into our Student Division. Placement classes are required for new students ages 7 and up. Participation in our Placement Class is free; however, we ask each participant to register in advance. Friday, August 25, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., we are hosting a FREE TRIAL CLASS day at PBT School to provide young dancers the opportunity to trial our classes in our Children’s Division.
