IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the dedication ceremony on July 7 for
“Lest We Forget “ mural to be placed in the First Street parking lot, has been postponed until further notice.
It will be rescheduled.
Attention! Western Massachusetts and other interested people.
Tomorrow is July 4th and Pittsfield once again is having its Fourth of July celebration and Parade!
Leading the parade is the color guard from
James E Callahan Chapter 65, Vietnam Veterans of America, followed by color guards from other veteran groups from the Berkshires. There will also be balloons, floats and marching bands. The parade steps off from the corner of South St and East Housatonic at 10:00 sharp, and ends at Wahconah Park.
On Friday at 10:00 the new mural of “Lest We Forget “ will be unveiled at the First St parking lot across from Eagle St. This is the 2nd rendition of the mural that originally was at 101 First St. The current one on West Housatonic and South St has faded and fallen into disrepair. Many generous people and businesses have contributed to the fund to have it redone. We are most grateful to all who donated to this beautiful tribute to our fallen Vietnam Veterans of Berkshire County.
All interested veterans and citizens are cordially invited to attend the ceremony this Friday.
