WordxWord
WordXWord celebrates diversity and the transformative power of words.
WordXWord celebrates diversity, the creative use of language and the experience of community that results from bringing poets, spoken word artists and audiences together. Our goal is to enhance - communication & understanding; embrace - differences & personal stories; enrich - lives & community; and enfranchise - everyone.
I don’t know how to address this without giving more attention than they deserve, but at our event last week, an individual pretending to offer a poem, instead offered a hateful, bigoted polemic/screed targeting the very heart of what we are.
While we do honor a broad definition of poetry, we do not offer a platform for lectures, polemics, screeds, hateful/hurtful attacks on marginalized individuals in our community or the organizations that offer support for them.
If this is confusing to you, then WordXWord is not the right space for sharing your work.
We’re doing it again. Poets of any age 12 - 80+, speaking any language, working in any style are invited! Find out more at https://wordxwordfestival.com/vlp24/
