Spotlighting Monica!

PTA would not be as wonderful or in existence if it were not for her. Thank you Monica for being an amazing SLP and Boss!

Here is just a little about this wonderful woman:

Monica has been working as an SLP for 40 years and specializes in the assessment and treatment of the premature infants in the NICU in addition to the oral-motor, feeding, swallowing and respiratory issues in infants and children with neuromotor disorders. Monica is owner of Pediatric Therapy Associates of South Florida in Plantation, FL. In addition she is involved in the center's intensive program which treats children from all over the world. She is an NDTA speech instructor in the Basic Pediatric NeuroDevelopmental Course and the Advanced Baby Course. Monica teaches national and international workshops and seminars on the the topics of oral motor, feeding/swallowing and respiratory issues in addition to the treatment of the premature baby in the NICU.

This beautiful young woman has been coming to our clinic for many years. She joins us from India a few weeks out of the year for intensive therapy with speech. We are honored to know her. Please help us in wishing her a happy 21st Birthday!

Spotlighting Carly! Carly has such a calm demeanor and always extremely patient. Her little friends just love her and so do we. Thank you Carly for all your hard work!

Spotlighting Mary! Mary is such a joy to have in the office, every child who works with her always has a smile on their face. Thank you Mary for all your hard work!

Today we got to celebrate the soon-to-be bride! Congratulations Nylah and Tim! One month until you say "I do". We wish you both the best on this next journey in your life.

Spotlighting Nylah! Nylah is able to able to address her little friends needs and help them to navigate the world around them. Her families love her and so do we. Thank you Nylah for all you do!

April is autism awareness month. Autism may impact the brain in the areas of social interaction, communication skills, sensory processing, cognitive function, and muscle tone. Autism is a spectrum, meaning two people may not present the same way. It should not be seen as a disability but better understood as learning the best way that each individual can interact with their environment and people around them. Everyone processes, works through, and deals with things in different ways; the same goes for people with autism.

Spotlight on Amanda! Amanda has made a great impact on all the families she has helped. All of her little friends greet her with a hug and a smile each time. Thank you for all your hard work!

Spotlighting Julia! Julia is a wonderful person and therapist. She goes above and beyond to help her kiddos and their families. Thank you Julia for all your hard work, we are lucky to have you!

Challenge Air is a nonprofit organization that volunteers their time to allow children to learn and experience being in a plane. They want to encourage kids that nothing is impossible.
