SecurAcath
SecurAcath lasts the life of the line and provides improved catheter securement with reduced complications. SecurAcath - Because Patients Deserve Better!
Nurses and patients deal with a variety of risks and problems when catheters are secured with sutures. Jocelyn, RN, explains that the nurses in her practice expect and demand a SecurAcath device in any central line.
"We had a 25 - 30% dislodgement rate, which is too high. Bringing in an anchor, our displacement rate is less than 5%. When you go from 30% to 5, I see that as a success."

Securement to Prevent Noncuffed Central Venous Catheter Dislodgement in Pediatrics This superiority randomized clinical trial compares the rates of dislodgement for noncuffed central venous catheters secured with a subcutaneous anchor securement system with sutureless securement devices in pediatric patients.
A recent multi-centered randomized controlled trial published in Pediatrics providing the highest level of clinical evidence - found that SecurAcath (SASS) saves money every time it is used.
In this trial, evidence showed that SecurAcath provided a healthcare cost savings of AU $36.60 (approximately $24.36 USD) per patient, even with a relatively short dwell time of 25.5 days. This results in an annual cost savings of almost AU $20,000 based on approximately 520 nc-CVC insertions per year at a participating hospital.

"SecurAcath has been an absolute game changer, because now our catheters stay in for the entire duration of therapy. Our practice became, if you're going to put in a PICC line and it's going to be in for more than two dressing changes, you need a SecurAcath."

Patient Octavia suffers from Sickle Cell Anemia and has had too many IVs and PICCs to count. Prior to the placement of her SecurAcath, she experienced “being stuck 17 times from five different nurses” and dealt with issues from medical adhesive skin injuries, migrations, dislodgements and infections.
Octavia shares that having the SecurAcath makes her life easier and is the catheter securement she’d choose should she need another PICC.
