Lotus Pharmacy is developing the framework for the first Age Friendly Community Pharmacy in the United States. Part of that effort is defining innovative ways to support communities who have lost their community pharmacy. We are grateful to serve the community in Winthrop and surrounding areas.

Lotus Pharmacy A New Level of Pharmacy Excellence

Happy from Lotus Pharmacy! A special thank you to all the volunteers out there that contribute their most precious resource (time) to help others. Volunteering is a core initiative at Lotus, reinforced by our favorite quote by Dr. King. Last year Lotus Pharmacy volunteered at or donated to over 20 nonprofit organizations in older adult, disability, and rural community services. We love giving back to the communities we serve and believe communities are stronger when we all work together.

Lotus Pharmacy worked with GeneSight to develop a pharmacist led Pharmacogenomics program to help ensure our clients have medications that are optimally metabolized based on their individual genetics. This testing helps reduce fall risks, confusion, and over prescribing. Pharmacogenomic testing is part of our Medication Therapy Management process. This partnership is another example of Lotus Pharmacy's innovation and differentiation, as we work together with our partners and clients to provide the best possible care for residents.

Lotus Pharmacy is passionate about the communities we serve. This week we were grateful to meet the like minded and innovative trustees of the Albert Lea Healthcare Coalition, a community heavily impacted by the loss of their local hospital and clinic. Lotus supports ALHC's efforts to bring affordable and available community based healthcare to the entire community, especially the older adults impacted. Through Lotus Pharmacy's Age Friendly Community Pharmacy grant, we are able to meet and discuss effective solutions to healthcare and pharmacy access challenges affecting Albert Lea and the surrounding communities.
