We had the pleasure of attending a special meeting with the owner and staff today to discuss the proposed changes and upgrades to the resort and the pool, fitness and room additions. The proposed changes will be a positive change to the 100 year old resort including a new surf club, tennis & pickle ball courts and more dining options. Per the owner, former Mayor John Peyton, the tallest building will be no higher than 54’ which is the current height of the historic Inn. The parking garage structure behind the lodge pool area and new building will be 35’. If it passes in November work will begin at the surf club after the summer season and expected completion 2 years later. While there will be impacts, it seems like a positive move for upgrading buildings. We were informed there will be no impacts to the golf course and no residential units are being added to keep the property as resort long term.
