Mainspring Portland
Mainspring provides food, clothing, senior program, personal care items, restorative justice and tran Located on TriMet lines 24 and 72.
Mainspring is on the corner of NE 82nd and NE Fremont.
We have been doing a nonperishable food drive at Burgerville on NE 82nd Ave. and Glisen during the month of August. Burgerville will give you a small thank you for the donation. There is not much time left. This is an excellent way to introduce the neighborhood kids to the simple act of giving to a community that needs it most. Share and Comment "YES", and be entered to win a wool lap blanket from Pendleton Woolen Mills.
Good afternoon all,
We would like to inform everyone that Mainspring will be closed for our summer staff and volunteer vacation beginning next week. We will will not be accepting donations or running any of our programs during this time off. We will resume normal operations on September 3rd.
The August 27th Rockwood Mobile Pantry Day will be impacted by this.
Good morning neighbors,
Shopping bags are essential items for Re-Thread Clothing Services, our clothing pantry. We would be very grateful for donations of reusable, paper, and plastic bags. Additionally, if you are unable to drop off bags during our work hours, which are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., please feel free to donate any extra baggage, food, or clothing at our booth with our Mainspring Volunteer Ambassadors every Saturday at the Rock Rocky Butte Farmers' Market.
Thank you in advance.
Lorren
Good morning, we’d like to let the community know that we are taking tomorrow and closing down services. This is to do a huge thank you for all of our volunteers that help make everything we do possible. Our volunteers are our bloodline that keeps the pulse running for Mainspring.

***Foodie Fundraiser Update***
For the month of June, we planned to work with 5o Licks Ice Cream on a sprinkle fundraiser.
Our community has received unfortunate news. Let us work together to rebuild.
50 Licks Burnside ice cream shop ‘pretty well destroyed’ in morning fire.
A morning fire has “pretty well destroyed” the Fifty Licks location at Southeast 28th Avenue and Burnside Street and a pair of neighboring businesses, according to Chad Draizin, the popular ice cream shop’s owner.
Anyone who wants to support the shop visit Fifty Licks’ two other locations, at 2022 S.E. Clinton St., and 1647 N.W 21st Ave.
This shop was one of three, and it did more business than the other two together. As summer approaches, many people crave ice cream.
We are urging the community to get together and buy ice cream to keep their pulse running.
Re-Thread Clothing Services, Our Clothing Pantry will be closed on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. McDaniel High School students will be on site to paint a mural on the building. Due to safety concerns for all clients and students, we will close the clothing pantry tomorrow.
Hi to all of you! Beginning on June 1st, we will be participating at the Rocky Butte Farmers' Market every other Saturday. Now is a perfect opportunity for you to find out more about the community services we offer. Additionally, a few neighbors find it difficult to donate during business hours. Please feel free to donate nonperishable food, clothing, or your time as a volunteer. Of course we will have some great raffles for the kids throughout the summer.
Good morning Mainspring community.
We wanted to give a special shout out to the students at David Douglas High school's student council who interviewed us after we applied for the CommuniCare grant this spring. These students worked as grant makers in collaboration with CommuniCare and the Harold and Alene Schnitzer care foundation to award funds to organizations that provide food and nutrition access to youth and families.
We are so grateful to be the recipient of this grant, and look forward to applying these funds to expand our services in our beloved community.
Please share as we need help in raising funds for 2024.

Resharing Notice
Spring is around the corner and it’s time to clean out those closets. Mainspring Portland is in desperate need of gently used men’s clothing, dress clothes, women’s wear, shoes, coats and accessories. Remember, if you didn’t wear it last year it is time to move it out.
Mainspring is located on NE 82nd and Fremont. Donations may be made 9am-3pm Monday through Thursday. We are also running short on women’s clothing. Look at it this way, if you have it and you don’t need it donate it to us instead of your local Goodwill.
When our store is fully stocked through generous donations, this is what it looks like.

Wanted to reach out to the Portland community and let you know that there has been plenty of children’s books donated. We are asking the community to come together and come pick up some and put them in your own personal neighborhood libraries. Wishing everyone a happy weekend.
As it is tax season, many struggle to find resources that can help them navigate the complicated process. It is also difficult to make ends meet and manage all the financial obligations that come with everyday life. It is important to seek assistance and utilize available tools to ensure a smooth tax filing experience.
Please share.

For the month of March, Mainspring will be partnering with Krispy Kreme. 50% of all sales from Krispy Kreme Digital Dozens will directly impact our mission and enable us to help those who need it most. We are asking the Portland community to come together and let everyone you know across the United States, that they can purchase their Krispy Kreme original dozen through our link below and support our mission of helping those in need.
Simply ask them to visit the link below starting March 1st. These dozens are a great gift as well as something you can bring to your next soccer match, PTA meetings, perhaps a business meeting, even block parties, and family get-togethers as a way to support Mainspring's efforts to reach more individuals and involve the community on a much larger scale.
The money from the Mainspring Foodie Fundraisers will go toward supporting Mainspring's growth and expansion of services in 2024.
We aim to serve more than 100,000 individuals by the end of 2024. In 2023, we provided services to more than 90k individuals with just four employees and forty-two volunteers. We could not do what we do without the community's support and our volunteers.
Please help us sell 1,000 boxes to meet our goal. Share this post with others to spread the word.
