✨This Call For Art is open to all Women/Femme-Identifying/Non-Binary artists from the Tri-State area (NY, NJ, CT)

✨All 2D/3D mediums are welcome to be submitted (maximum size- 24 inches on the longest side) All artwork must be framed, ready to hang/installed.

✨There is no application fee to apply. If accepted, a hanging fee of $30 is due at the time of acceptance.

This happened at our building last night, weeks after our space was broken into and our property was stolen. I’m so happy that Justice can now be served after our horrible ordeal, and I can now heal and continue the process of moving into our new space.

Guiding By Hand: Artistic Interpretations of Puppets

Ever wonder what would happen if your artwork came to life? Puppetry is a rich tradition spanning folk arts around the world and some of the most cherished pop culture old and new, from Indonesian Wayang shadow puppets to Kermit the Frog. Your submissions can be a 2D or 3D work depicting or interpreting puppets and puppetry, or even your own original puppets.

In partnership with the Folk Arts Program at Arts Mid-Hudson and Paperheart Puppets, WomensWork.Art Gallery presents this show as part of the 2024 Hudson Valley Puppet Festival.

About the Curator: Brad Shur is the founder and lead artist of Paper Heart Puppets, based in Poughkeepsie, New York. For over twenty years, Brad has been creating and touring original puppetry productions that combine ancient traditions with innovative ways of connecting with audiences using puppets of all sizes, materials, and disciplines.
