Brown's Initiative for Sustainable Energy hosted its inaugural Subra Suresh Symposium at the Frontiers of Technology and Society yesterday, with a focus on renewable energy, carbon capture and energy-efficient technologies. Brown's experts combined with other leaders like former Energy Secretary and Nobel Laureate Steven Chu in the day-long conference.

Brown's Initiative for Sustainable Energy is hosting the inaugural Subra Suresh Symposium at the Frontiers of Technology and Society, inviting several distinguished scientists and engineers to campus. Nobel Laureate, former U.S. Energy Secretary, and Stanford University's Steven Chu gave the opening plenary, while Sarah Kurtz (NAE member, UC Merced) provided the keynote.

A symposium was held in Professor Eric Suuberg's honor at the Denver meeting of the American Chemical Society in August. Suuberg was selected the 2024 Distinguished Researcher by the Energy and Fuels Division of the ACS.
