Have you heard of “kakishibu”?
Made of fermented unripe persimmon, this Japanese dye creates this rich, earthy brown color, while waterproofing the surface its applied to!
You can see how it adds color to a sheet of kozo, enhances the fibers in this drawing on an unryu paper.

It has been a few days since ‘s 2024 Conference “Verified by Proof’’ wrapped up in Providence, RI. It was so great to see so many new and familiar faces in the vendor hall, open portfolio session, and at our one year anniversary PRINT HOP event at the Friday night!
