New public art, coming to Brown!
From the Boston Globe: "This artist gives us plenty to chew on, but even as he raises uncomfortable questions about labor, representation, and attribution, he extols the sparks and ties of collaboration, honoring everybody’s contribution. It’s a feel-good conceptual art show, which in itself is a feat."
John C Gonzalez’s solo show is built on collaboration - The Boston Globe On display in area galleries are works by John C Gonzalez and Salvador Jimènez-Flores.

Michael Chang is a senior Applied Music Student concentrating in computer engineering at Brown. Musically, he's inspired when he hears an amazing melody. He finds himself wanting to play it and recreate the same melody. In the past, he was more competition oriented and played pieces that were more in line with the programs. At Brown, however, he's been able to play the pieces he's always wanted to. Many of these pieces, he will perform at his recital!
See his performance this Saturday, April 30th in Grant Recital Hall at 5PM!

"...the Brown music community has been incredibly supportive of this project in that I’ve asked so many people to be involved. I’m writing up a program for the show and I looked at it—I can’t fit everyone’s name on this program... Even though I feel like it’s my work to a certain extent, I think to an even greater extent it’s the work of the Brown music community. Without them, this wouldn’t have happened."
