Happy Tuesday BYUPC!
Please don't forget about the T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST being held right now! We need your ideas for Polynesian Club! Don't forget to review our vision and information for inspiration! Message us if you have any questions!
We hope that those of you who were interested in participating in the protests for Mauna Kea were able to do so and felt the spirit of all those you stand alongside. Please continue to say updated with developments concerning Mauna Kea, ask questions if you have any, and keep those who are protecting this sacred space in your prayers!
REMINDER: Saane Siale is holding a peaceful protest tomorrow night to bring awareness to the situation of immigrant families being separated here in the States. The details were included in a previous post but if you have any other questions, please message Saane!
LASTLY, the MSS is still in need of a section leader to lead the New Zealand section for this year's luau. In a nutshell, section leaders head the dances, costumes, and overall representation of the island they are leading. IT DOES REQUIRE A LOT OF TIME AND EFFORT. BUT, if you saw last year's NZ section, the group was small and the performance was simple, BUT IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. We don't need fancy, we just need someone who's willing to put the time and effort into representing New Zealand's culture. SO PLEASE, if you're interested and/or have questions, contact Divine (BYUPC President) through Facebook - Divine Tanuvasa-Fuaga, email - [email protected], or phone - 8083893009. If you know of someone that is NOT a BYU student, but would like to be section leader, you will need to find a current BYU student to be their counterpart.
Mahalo Nui Loa for your Kokua! We have taken a break this summer, but we are excited for Fall semester!
Happy Aloha Friday BYUPC!
As yous may have seen, there’s a lot happening on the island of Hawaii at Mauna Kea. In a nutshell, the people of Hawaii, especially the Native Hawaiians, are trying to protect this sacred land from being built on, further commercialized & desecrated. They’re blocking the road to stop construction and many other gatherings near and far have been assembled to show support and unity. If you’re free this weekend, please come out and support!
Mauna Kea is more than land or a mountain, it IS the Hawaiian culture. It’s just as a part of us as the people and the language. We need to protect it, for all sorts of reasons. You don’t need to be Hawaiian or from Hawaii! But if you value culture, family, and our Mother Earth please show support!!! Mahalo nui loa!!! 🙌🏽
Please message questions or ask directions if you need!
Howziit everybody! Hoping you all are having a great summer so far! We can’t wait see all of you this upcoming semester. We will be making shirts for 2019-2020. We need your help 🤙🏽
Happy Summer BYU Poly Club!
We know that everyone is busy with their own summer plans but we would like to extend an invitation to all of our club members—if interested—to participate in a peaceful protest against ICE Enforcement held next week. It is purposely set to be on July 24th, Utah’s state holiday for Pioneer Day.
There will be speakers & opportunities for all to learn how we can better contribute to our communities. As well as meet new people and make new connections!
This has been planned by one of our very own poly club member Saane Siale. She is a strong believer in the fact that & asks that if you are in the area and need a ride please let her know! Or if you have questions DM:
Saane has spent the past year working with an immigration organization and this cause means a lot to her. If this is something you’d want to be a part of, come.

Hello Everyone,
Tonight the Tribe of Many Feathers with help from various other organizations are coming together to pay respects to our friend who passed away from Monday's tragic incident. We are blessed to have Black Student Union, BYU Polynesian Club, Living Legends, and Buffalo Jr. preform to celebrate and honor the life of our friend.
We will be meeting at the west side parking lot of the Tanner Building at 5:15 P.M. and after performances we will walk up Freshman Hill and pay our respects at the east side benches with a memorial to our friend and her family.
We invite any and all to come out to tonight's activity as I am sure the Spirit will be strong as we gather. Please share with your friends and family.
