Please see the UPDATED press release out of the office of the PIO:

Blacksburg Police Department Investigating Deaths

The Blacksburg Police Department responded to the parking garage located at 723 University City Blvd for a report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered two deceased juveniles, as well as a weapon, inside the vehicle. Both juveniles have been identified as students enrolled at Blacksburg High School. The Blacksburg Police Department and the Town of Blacksburg are working with Montgomery County Public Schools to ensure that any services MCPS staff or students may need are available. Investigators have been in contact and notified the next-of-kin for both individuals. It is the policy of the Blacksburg Police Department not to release the names of juveniles. At this time, it appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. This is still an active and ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Blacksburg Police Department Crime Tip Line at 540-961-1819 or email at [email protected].

You might not think today of all days would bring so many laughs and over all genuine enjoyment. That's not what normally comes to mind for Halloween. It's spooky season after all!

Today was full of different visitors and we had fun in Dispatch today. Almost everyone who visited had to sport the "wig".

Thanks for visiting your dispatchers and having some laughs, we need that to become more frequent.

I hope everyone had a safe and fun night tonight.

6pm tonight Homecoming Parade!

🐾Monday, September 18 kicks off our 2023 homecoming week with our 2nd annual homecoming parade at 6PM in the Town of Dublin. Come out to see representation from all of our Pulaski County Public Schools.

🐾On Tuesday, all students will be participating in our school-wide service day, PCHS GO. During this day of service, students will have the opportunity to give back to our school and community through a variety of different projects. Students will enter through the commons to check in before reporting to their predetermined project location. These assignments will be released to students upon arrival to PCHS. Any student who does not report to school will receive an unexcused absence. Many students will be working outdoors or with paint. Students should dress in clothes they do not care to get dirty.

🐾On Wednesday, we invite you to our PCHS Juniors vs. Seniors Powderpuff game at 7PM. Tickets are $5 cash and no sports passes will be permitted. The first 100 PCPS students to enter will get a homecoming tattoo.

🐾On Thursday, all students get in FREE to the girls volleyball game at PCHS. JV starts at 5:30, with Varsity to follow.

🏈🏈To round out our homecoming week, we will celebrate "50 Seasons of Friday Night Lights" as we invite all alumni back to our football game and the crowning of homecoming royalty at halftime. At the conclusion of the game, students who do not wish to leave campus may report to the gymnasium for restrooms and a photo opportunity. Tickets for the dance are $7 and can be purchased on SchoolCash Online.

🐾Thank you and we can't wait to celebrate our Cougar Pride this week!

* No livestock or Law Enforcement was hurt*

So far we've had a report of a pig bite and horses at large. These are a few examples of the calls we get regarding livestock. Please continue to circulate the live stock contact form. This information helps us reunite you with your animals. We know our Deputies and Officers love wrangling these animals, however we need to not tie up our resources when needed else where.

09/11/2023

Please let anyone know that has any type of livestock to fill one of these out or contact communications and let them know to ensure we have your contact information in the event your livestock get out.
