The first Art Day on Friday hosted by the Giles County Historical Society and the Capt. George Pearis Chapter of the DAR went very well and we are excited for more community Art Days for the kids at other historic sites throughout the NRV with Revolutionary ties. The schedule of historic sites and dates where the kids can join in to learn history, reflect, and create watercolors is attached. If there are any questions or to register for the Aug 1st date, please email [email protected] Included on the flyer are a couple painting by P. Buckley Moss who was likewise inspired by the beauty and history of some of these places. We are honored to have known her and saddened by her passing.

We had a wonderful time painting terracotta pots and planting Spider Plants this morning at the Pulaski Senior Center. A huge thanks to Poor Boy’s Produce for donating plants for this fun event!

Tie-dying t-shirts was very fun (and messy!). As a reminder, your wet t-shirt needs to stay wrapped in its plastic bag until tomorrow morning. Rinse the excess dye out in a sink, remove the rubber bands, and run it through the washer with a little detergent and hot water. Wash separately for the first few washes, in order to protect your other clothing.

It’s almost time, folks. The 2024 Summer Olympics will take place July 26 - August 11 in Paris, France. There is sure to be an amazing opening show with some incredible feats by stunning athletes from all over the world.

We would also like to tip our hats to the Old Pro’s for such a mesmerizing performance. We had such a wonderful, enthusiastic crowd and were fortunate for the heat to subside later in their performance. We look forward to more events like this.

Our Dublin branch will be CLOSED from Wednesday, January 10 to Friday, January 12 for painting!
We will reopen on Saturday, January 13 (or earlier if we happen to finish up early).
