A big thank you to artists Patrick Mcgregor and Kevin Burdick for their amazing work, Todd Witt and Wood County Walls and Murals for organizing this initiative and paying part of the cost, Dr Greg Eberhart and the Quitman Development Corporation for funding the Bass Wall, JR Evans and the Quitman Lake Country Charitable Foundation for funding the Bulldog wall, Scott and Arlan Dunson and Quitman True Value for donating the paint and supplies, Dani’s Sidekick’s, Speakeasy Coffeehouse, Your Appetites, Anconna Italian Restaurant, and Seth's Lake Fork Creek Steak and Seafood for feeding the artists, 5H Equipment Rental & Sales for the lifts, and ‘Aunt Corki’s Cabin’ and Tall Pines Retreat for the artists’ lodging. If we’ve missed mentioning someone please let us know because it was a huge collective effort and we are grateful to everyone involved. Can’t wait for next year!! Check out https://www.woodcountywalls.org in the coming weeks as they update all the new murals on the website so you can take a drive around the county to see them all.
Finishing touches are going on the bulldog mural at Dani’s Sidekick’s!
Join us tomorrow, Saturday the 23rd at 9 AM to see the final product and attend the installation ceremony. Be sure to meet the artist and take some photos with this amazing piece of art while you’re there.
The installation ceremony at the bass wall at the Quitman PD will take place immediately following so you can attend and see both.
This bulldog wall was made possible through private donations to the Foundation's Downtown Revitalization Fund in conjunction with Wood County Walls and Murals. We are so thankful for all those generous donations that made this happen. We look forward to re-growing that fund to participate in next year's Texas Street Art Festival!

Everyone is invited to the installation ceremony at our bulldog mural at Dani’s Sidekick’s tomorrow at 9am! Hope to see you there
Thanks Quitman Chamber for taking these great pics! So rewarding to see the Foundation’s dollars go to such an asset for our town, done but such a great guy! Thanks again to all the donors that made this happen!
Patrick is making great progress on the Dani’s Sidekick’s wall!! So impressive to watch it come together.
Keep your eyes on the side of Dani’s Sidekick’s this week! Artist Patrick McGregor of https://esotericartdenver.com is installing an amazing mural from our Downtown Revitalization Fund. This is just the mock up and some minor details will change but this will give you an idea of the basic concept. This project is part of the greater Wood County Walls and Murals event happening this week with 16 new murals going up around the county by 8 national and local artists with the goal of increasing tourism and encouraging people to visit, get out of their cars to interact with murals, and shop/eat in our communities while they’re here. Please make Patrick feel welcome as he is giving us his talents and time at a greatly reduced fee than he normally receives. We appreciate him and all those donors dedicated to our downtown revitalization.
We are incredibly lucky thanks to donations to our Downtown Revitalization Fund to be able to get a second large mural in Quitman starting this weekend on the side of Dani’s Sidekick’s done by nationally recognized mural artists as part of the Wood County Walls and Murals project. Thank you to Rick Burgos for also getting that wall prepped and ready for art!
The Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis Club is working with the Quitman Elementary K-Kids service club to build a beautiful courtyard where students can learn in an outdoor space. The space will be used for special lunches, outdoor lessons, gardening programs, and collaboration with the high school horticulture classes. The Foundation has a Fund in place to assist in making this project come to life. There is still a need for donations so if you can help please donate at https://www.paypal.com/donate?campaign_id=UE7KWLST79FBL
