Blessed Beginnings Doula Services
Birthing is an experience that moves through and touches every aspect of a woman. It is physical, emotional, mental and spiritual!
The experience is raw and vulnerable and yet empowering in an unforgettable way.
I love watching them grow! ❤️
I've had a few people reach out to me asking if I have availability. Yes I do!
Questions I've received recently...
Do you take state assistance?
No I do not.
Do you offer doula services that support the children of the birthing mother?
Yes I do!
Do you only attend home births?
I attend birth center, hospital and home births.
How far will you travel?
I will travel up to an hour.
I am always available if you have any further questions.
Birth is a mysterious process. Sometimes no matter how you plan, no matter how well everything falls into place during pregnancy...sometimes birth takes us on an unexpected journey.
It is OK to feel broken over this but know that my job is to help you feel safe and supported and to allow you the most beautiful birth no matter how, where or when it occurs.
Home birth turned hospital birth and it was very peaceful and very beautiful!
Truly blessed to be a doula... this isn't a job... it is a passion I love!!
No.
My job is to educate, support and guide. In no way should I be making decisions on your behalf.
However, it is my job to relay what I'm hearing, explain options or get clarification and ask for everyone to pause and allow time to process.
I do believe and it has been proven in studies that having a doula who can remain calm and has experience greatly reduces the amount of intervention a mother receives during her birth.
2022 will be my first year stepping into doula work more "full time."
My standard pricing for my services is $950. However, I am offering my services for $650 to the next 2 mothers who secure their deposit.
What does that include?
- Minimum two prenatal visits
- I'm on call 24/7 from 37 weeks to 42 weeks
- I stay with you no matter how long the birth
- Remain with you after the birth to clean, pack, move to recovery, help you shower, make a meal (if homebirth)
- Frequent check ins via phone or text the first 6 weeks post partum
- One post partum visit (I bring my famous Groaning Bread)
Demonstrating "horse lips" as a breathing technique during labor and next thing I know...
James was giving a perfect example, lol.
So "horse lips" James style.
Evidence based!
This is my heart for every mother, to have their dream birth!!!
Loving my custom straw cups for the mothers of the births I attend! They even change colors!! So fun!!
Thank you to my sweet friend who made these for me!! ❤️
Why am I posting pictures of myself???
I was walking to get into my vehicle and caught a glimpse of myself. I had to giggle....
See all those crazy baby hairs??? I lost SO MUCH hair after my most recent birth. No matter how many times I give birth and lose hair... there is always a moment of panic when I see the handfuls and handfuls.
BUT it DOES grow back!!!
Wanted to share in case there is a momma who needed to hear and see this!! It is normal to lose hair, even a lot of hair, and it will grow back!
Essential Oils: I always have a wide selection of oils with me, both for relaxation and energizing. **I personally always use peppermint during transition**
Homeopathy: I carry with me a few key homeopathic blends that many mothers have had success with.
Hot and Cold Therapy: Rice bags for heat and latex free gloves I can fill with ice to place on birthing mothers necks.
Diffuser: I utilize both the diffuser and also cotton balls with a few drops of oil for smelling.
Rebozo: For helping to take pressure off during contractions or if spinning baby techniques are needed.
Tens Machine: A mother can choose to utilize the unit to ease some of early labor contractions.
Peanut Ball: I always have a peanut ball with me.
Massage Tools and Lotion: There are a few options available and usually at some point they all get used.
Tea Lights: I always have a few battery operated tea lights with me to help with the atmosphere wherever the birthing mother is laboring.
Speaker: I have a small bluetooth/wifi speaker that is available for use if needed.
I also bring with me many personal items to insure I'm fully prepared for whatever length of time the labor might take.
I offer postpartum doula services!! I believe EVERY mother should feel supported as they transition into life with a new baby.
Mothers should rest! Mothers should bond! Mothers should not feel alone!!!
Society paints a picture that we must be "super" mothers and if we aren't, then we must be failing. A super mother knows how much her body just went through and gives grace as her body continues to go through a lot!
I keep finding these oldies but goodies!!! One of my first births I attended.
Involving the 5 senses during birth can play a key role in the entire experience!!
I have personally practiced delayed cord cutting with all of my home births. ❤️
One way to alleviate nausea, keep strength in muscles and prepare the body for birth is through pregnancy yoga!
I have personally used these videos (there are different ones for different trimesters) and found them extremely helpful. They are short and easy to follow!

Birth has no rhyme or reason, no matter how perfectly planned, it happens in its own way!
My privilege is to be there through each step... reassuring, comforting, explaining, supporting and calming. Birth is a journey... an adventure... and it becomes what changes you forever!!
The extra support of a doula is invaluable (speaking from experience).
I absolutely love, love, looooove looking back on births I've been so blessed to be apart of!!
Fills me with so much joy!!!
My background and first "passion" was pre and post natal fitness/nutrition (that was 13 plus years ago, ouch...I feel old).
I've been nursing for 8 years straight and have nursed through pretty much every situation imaginable. That is my next goal, to be officially certified in lactation.
I've carried multiples and singletons. I've had 3 c sections, 1 non medicated hospital birth and 3 home births. I have experienced extremely premature babies and overdue babies! I've had a full placenta previa and lost a sweet baby that just about took my life. When it comes to pregnancy, I've walked through so many different circumstances and outcomes! I think that is what makes me extra extra in tune and compassionate!
