Dear Doula
Supporting families through pregnancy, labor & delivery, and postpartum.
The perinatal period starts from conception through the 1st year after giving birth.
✨PMADS can affect anyone. It does not discriminate.
✨Every year more than 400,000 infants are born to mothers who are depressed.
✨Making perinatal depression the most under diagnosed obstetric complication in America.
‼️it’s time to check on your postpartum people‼️
✨If you or anybody you know is suffering from PMADs, it’s important to find a licensed therapist near you. You can do this by visiting Psychology Today and entering your zip code ❤️🩹

One of the reasons I love being a doula is that we are able to provide support on so many different levels ✨🤍
It’s such a privilege to be apart of someone’s birthing story.
If you are considering adding a doula to your birth team, I’d love to chat! DM me, email or link to my website is in my bio!🥰
Thinking about adding a birth doula to your team? Here are 5 evidenced based benefits ✨
Lets talk hydrotherapy during labor & delivery! 💦🛁
Warm water immersion during labor can provide some comfort, decrease pain and over all relax your body.
I have seen some pretty quick transitions from my clients using the tub in labor.
Over a handful of times, a mama has gone from about 3-4 centimeters dilated…to having the sensation of intense pressure & feeling like they need to p**p 💩 or pushing involuntarily all in about 20 mins!
(if you’re a birth worker, you know how excited we get for this) 🙌🏻
On the flip side, it can also stall labor in some cases.
Utilizing the tub or shower is one of my favorites tools to use in labor!
Tell me in the comments how water helped or stalled your labor✨
It’s Mother’s Day. A day where we’re focusing solely on the women in our lives. Who birthed us, who birthed our mothers, who have cared for us.
This week has been heavy for women. We learned how quickly our rights can be taken from us. How medical decisions lie in the hands of the opposite s*x. How laws can control our bodies.
For this Mother’s Day, I don’t want you getting some fancy breakfast in bed, a dozen roses, that fancy piece of jewelry or even silence for a minute. Well…okay, maybe silence. 😉
For this Mother’s Day, I want the people in your life that mean to the most to you to listen to you.
I wish that when you speak, even if your voice shakes, that you are advocating for yourself, that you are being respected, valued, seen & heard.
I wish that when you speak they are listening to your mental, emotional, physical, medical needs and desires.
For this Mother’s Day, I want everyone to listen to women. ✨🖤
Here are different ways a postpartum doula can support you, your baby & family after birth! ✨
Postpartum doulas provide in-home support immediately after birth. This support can be during the day ☀️ or at night 🌙
Postpartum doulas assess the needs of the whole family while providing emotional support to the parents.
Postpartum doulas normalize the postpartum recovery process for parents and encourage lots of sleep and rest! 💤
Mainly, postpartum doulas provide newborn care! Taking care of feedings, bathing, changing/dressing, preparing bottles & washing/cleaning them, help establish some sort of routine, organize the nursery and other things!
It truly takes a village to raise a family! Let Dear Doula be apart of yours!😍❤️
⚫️PSA⚫️: Postpartum is forever and involves both parents. ✔️ on your postpartum peeps✨🖤

Just in awe of this fresh hand on mama😍
Those first skin-to-skin moments are critical for mama and baby & their next steps of life that they take together.
Here are some of my favorite reasons why:
✨helps the uterus shrink back down to size and stop bleeding 🩸
✨promotes major bonding vibes for mama and baby
✨keeps baby nice and toasty
Bonus: ANYBODY can do skin-to-skin! Dads, siblings, grandparents!! It’s such a great way for baby to bond with others!💕
✨I took this picture for my client. I only offer to take pictures & videos if all my other doula responsibilities are met. 😊
Drop a 🙋🏼♀️🙋🏽♀️🙋🏿♀️ emoji below if you have experienced some pain/discomfort during pregnancy! 💥
Pregnancy can be such a beautiful and amazing experience, and yet bring challenges that we need to normalize more!
I mean, think about it! You are growing a HUMAN inside of you. 🤰🏾 Every day your body is changing and growing from the inside - out. 🌀
You may not recognize your body as it changes, stretches and that can be overwhelming! 🤯
Pain and discomfort is common in pregnancy and we tolerate it so much. Why is that?!
The way I see it: pregnancy & birth is a marathon. We must prepare ourselves: mentally, emotionally and physically for the change and life that is about to occur.
We must make sure we are nourishing our bodies with water 💦 , fruits and veggies and Whole Foods🍎🍇🍊, and all the sleep and rest💤😴. If we can incorporate movement even just stretching 🙆🏼♀️ or a light walk 🚶♀️ is even better!
Then we can call on our friends! Like Webster Certified Chiros, Physical Therapist that specializes in perinatal health, body worker/massage therapist, acupuncturist, nutritionist and a doula!
If you were training for a marathon, you would have all of these components on your team and not think twice about it! So don’t question it when it comes to your body and baby!
During pregnancy should be the time we are learning to build our village.🏡
Patience is *such* a virtue 🤍✨
We’re starting over. Our life. Our business. Meeting new people - building our community, again🌍✨. Exploring a new city.
Some say it takes 2️⃣ years to adjust to a new city - I’ve already moved once since being here.
There’s been a lot uncomfortable & unknown feelings (similar to what we see in pregnancy and birth) and sometimes that’s where our lives truly start…like when a baby is born.
Birth isn’t easy, but it’s worth it because life is born.
Just like being patient isn’t easy: a conscious decision to wait⏰⏳, but waiting can mean wonderful things are near.
Taking it one day at a time & waiting to accept all the goodness that will come my way⭐️💫🌟
We have to be open in order to accept it 🫶🏼

This is my favorite breastfeeding fact! 💛
How incredible! It’s mind blowing truly! 🤯
Think about it…You may be more hyper sensitive to your babes emotional/mental needs, especially when they are sick! 🤧
It’s amazing that your body kicks in gear and fights back against germs to also PHYSICALLY make babe heal!❤️🩹
Breastfeeding folk (however you chose to identify) YOU are freaking rockstars!!!!🤩
Did you know that doulas provide continuous support to you and your partner labor and delivery?!
Yes, the hospital/birthing staff will be present, assisting at your birth. But they will likely need to focus on the medical aspects of birth.
Depending on where you chose to give birth will determine the patient to provider ratio.
Continuous support from a doula can ensure that your emotionally, physically and mentally needs are met during birth.
You can focus, go to labor land with your partner and your doula will control the environment around you. ✨🤍
✨Dear Doula here to reminder you that you can breastfeed your baby wherever you need✨
While taking care of horses, getting ready for a wedding, walking around in the wilderness, hanging with friends & family & just about anywhere else that you & BABE need/want!
Shout to this beautiful mama .stein 💕
