How do we prepare for the impact of the upcoming U.S. elections—emotionally, psychologically, and materially?
Nour Counseling will be hosting an Election Survival Support Group this summer for folx 18+ who experience anxiety or fear related to the political climate and/or upcoming U.S. elections.
This group creates space to hold each others’ anxieties, fears, and activation around elections. The goals of the group are to express and release fears in a safe space, create podmaps of community connections/resources, and practice ways to connect to our inner resilience.
The following rights will be centered in this space:
immigrant, transgender, abortion, equity, critical race education, and overall safety. This support group is for individuals who experience a lack of protection by the state and is designed to help folx discover more ways to protect each other.
It is not a space for electoral endorsement or an effort to encourage voting.
We will hold space for 2 sliding scale spots in this space and will not turn away folx for lack of funds.
📆 July 11 - Aug 29, Thursdays, 6-7:30 PM

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!
As Martin Luther King Jr. Day is around the corner, we’d like to share with y’all how some of our therapists plan to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy.
Take rest and find ways to honor my ancestors’ dream fulfillment while reflecting on my dream for future generations to come.
Have conversations about racial injustice, read & listen to what others have to say, and constantly adjust my implicit (and explicit) biases.
Remember how recent the Civil Rights struggle was and how cyclical and recurring the issues are.
Reflect on the sacrifices and determination of my ancestors, and reflecting on how I can pay that forward.
❓How to navigate the New Year
📋 Tips from our therapists
1️⃣ Self-care is not selfish. Set boundaries and prioritize your needs.
2️⃣ Remember goals are the destination. Intentions are the steps you take to get there.
3️⃣ Give yourself grace. It’s always ok to start over.
4️⃣ For high achievers: Set goals, then set realistic goals.
5️⃣ Embrace new solutions to old problems.
6️⃣ Consider if pride or ego are keeping you stuck in the same unhealthy relationships and patterns.
