Students - A reminder that Spring Fling at PHSC will be next Monday! Our Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs will be hosting a Bubble Gum Challenge, at Spring Fling, to raise awareness for oral cancer.

At the annual meeting of the Committee on Accreditation for Neurodiagnostic Technology, Rebecca Rendahl (Program Director), was elected chairman of the board! Rebecca has served on the committee since 2016 and has acted as vice-chair for two terms before moving to the chair's role. The committee accredits Neurodiagnostic Technology programs across the country and is a member board of CAAHEP (Commission for Accreditation of Allied Health Programs).

Happy Dental Assistant Recognition Week!

During Dental Assistant Recognition Week (DARW), the Wake Tech Community College Dental Assisting Program participated by recognizing local dental assistants from our clinical rotation sites. Our students distributed a small token of appreciation to over one hundred dental assistants at the following clinic sites: UNC Adams School of Dentistry, East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine, Wake County Human Services, Dental Hygiene Clinic at Wake Tech Community College, Local Start, and Wake Smiles (non-profit organization). These dental assistants are a valued resource for our students during their first clinical experiences.

Dental Assistants Recognition Week™ (also known as DARW) is held the first full week in March every year. This year March 3-9, 2024, was designated by the American Dental Assistants Association as the perfect time to acknowledge and recognize the versatile, multi-talented member of your dental team. Dentists in the United States and Canada will celebrate by honoring their dental assistants for their various duties and helping them provide patients with quality dental care.
