Rancho Cucamonga Friends of the Library
We are a non-profit organization that raises money for the Rancho Cucamonga Public Library. Library
We have two bookstores that sell used books and other book related items. We are all volunteers dedicated to supporting our two public libraries.
The Rancho Cucamonga Friends of the Library is looking for people 18 years of age or older who would like to volunteer at our bookstores. We are in need of cashiers, pricers and shelvers. Shifts are usually 3 hours, 1 day a week. Volunteering with the FOL is fun and you are helping to raise money for our Archibald and Biane Libraries, for children's books and programs. Come to either bookstore and fill out an application or to get more information.
Clear the Shelters starts today! For the entire month of August, adoption fees will be waived on all animals older than 6 months of age (some exclusions may apply). Clear the Shelters is brought to you by NBCUniversal, Telemundo, Hillโs Science Diet, and our generous donor who is sponsoring all adoptions! Come meet your new family member Tuesday-Friday 12-5pm.
Just a reminder to check on your friends and family to make sure they are staying cool during this heat. Both libraries are a great place to stay cool, as well as the Senior Center. Make sure your furry friends are cool, and walk them early to avoid burnt paws.
Last week was a great week for adoptions!! Congratulations to all of our furry friends and their new families! We have a ton of great pets available for adoption. If you have been thinking of adding to your family, please come visit us Tuesday-Saturday, 12-5pm.
Weโve got some serious cuties available for adoption today! Come visit during our new adoption hours, 12pm-5pm if your family has been considering the addition of a puppy! All adoption policies and procedures apply.
Please remember that you can visit the Rancho Cucamonga Public Library at Victoria Gardens and on Archibald Blvd if you need to be some place cool. The Senior Center on Baseline is also a great place to spend these hot days. If you have elderly or diabled neighbors remember to check on them.
Don't forget your pets get overheated also. Make sure they have shade and plenty of water. Also, the cement is very hot on their paws!
Please remember to take care of yourself and any children, seniors or pets in your care.
As the heat rises this week, keep in mind that parking in the shade or rolling your windows down is not enough to change the interior temperature of the vehicle. A child's body temperature rises 3-5 times faster than an adult, so never leave a child alone in a car, not even for a minute.
Keep hydrated, minimize direct exposure to the sun and avoid strenuous activities until the coolest time of the day.
Stay safe and stay cool RC! โ๏ธ๐

Do you know where your bearded dragon is? Because this one was brought in as a stray! It was found in the front yard of a community member. If you recognize this lovely lizard, please call (909) 466-7387, option 1. Proof of ownership will be required to reclaim.
With the Fourth of July and summer vacations coming up, now is the time to ensure that your beloved pet is microchipped! Microchipping ensures that your pat can be traced back to you if they escape or get lost. We invite Rancho Cucamonga residents to join us for a special after-hours FREE microchipping event on Wednesday, June 12th from 5-8pm. Rabies vaccines and licensing will also be available at this event. Residents will need to provide proof of residency, such as a household bill or current driverโs license, as well as proof of pet ownership, such as a veterinary bill or adoption receipt, to participate.

Diane spearheaded the creation of the Rancho Cucamonga Friends of the Library 40 years ago. We recognized Ofelia Vest and Helen Knuttel with Lifetime Member certificates. They have volunteered with the Friends for 20+ years.
Just a reminder that it is going to again be HOT the next few days. Remember to check in on family and friends who may not have A/C. People can go to the beautiful and cool senior center on Baseline to keep cool. Don't forget about those furry family members. The asphalt can get way too hot for their puppy paws.
We wanted to take today to share our appreciation for the Rancho Cucamonga Friends of the Library for all that they do for our library and our community!
