Shasta/Tehama Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster
VOAD is a convening organization to help foster collaboration & reduce duplication among non-governmental agencies who have a response role in disasters.
Local VOAD members include United Way of Northern California, Bethel Church, The Salvation Army, 211NorCal, American Red Cross, NorCal Lions Clubs Disaster Response Team, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dignity Health, Shasta/Tehama Amateur Radio Emergency Service, National Missions, Southern Baptists Disaster Relief and associate members Redding Fire Department, CalFire Shasta/Trinity Unit and Tehama County Office of Emergency Services.
We here in Redding feel for the Hill Fire victims and evacuees. Six years ago today, the Carr Fire came into Redding.
The Shasta/Tehama VOAD had a wonderful time partnering with the Shasta County Fire Safe Council at the Shasta County Fair! Shasta Fire Safe Council is offering wonderful resources on how to prepare for disasters, steps to harden your home, and offering free wood chipping programs to remove debris off of your property. Reach out to them today for more information!
