Happy Pi Day!
Pi is a never-ending constant that is approximately equal to 3.14. Without Pi, we wouldn’t be able to accurately calculate or create circles. Engineers use Pi to calculate and optimize sound waves for TV and radio. Plays a key role in the formulas of probability and statistics.
Our libraries feature many STEAM-themed activities and content including Fix-It Clinics, Create, craft, Collobare – Making is for Everyone, LEGO Robotics League, Technology Servies and more. Check out the calendar of events. https://www.redwoodcity.org/departments/library/events

Since its inception in 2000, volunteers have read to more than half a million children! Traveling Storytime also provides free books for families to build home libraries and read often at home. Come to the open house to learn how to bring stories to preschoolers!

Your donations are helping children learn! Thanks to your support, we recently bought 30 new iPads to replace old and glitchy iPads circulating in the children's room of the Downtown Library!

The new iPads are pre-loaded with pre-school appropriate apps, and can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time. This large purchase supports the library's Bridging the Digital Divide initiative, which focuses on providing devices and internet service to those who might not otherwise have access.

Keep supporting children's learning and make a donation today. http://redwoodcitylibraryfoundation.org/

Keep our community learning! When you donate to the Library Foundation, you are donating to the community. Just look at how the Makerspace has something for everyone: sewing and embroidery machines, LEGO robotics, art salons, 3D printers, coding, crafting and far more. Who knows where this could take you? For Jason Newblanc, a laser cutting workshop in the Makerspace after he had been laid off was the key to a new career as an artist. His work often features Redwood City subjects, like the octopus at the Courthouse Square. Read his story and donate today! https://www.rclfdn.org/post/how-the-makerspace-helped-launch-a-new-career-1

Last night we were able to showcase what a library Makerspace can be and the powerful addition to the community it will serve. Thanks to the library staff, the Makerspace funders, the community who came to learn more, the City, the Makerspace Community Advisory team, and the RCLF board. We could not have done this without relying on each other and the partnerships, collaboration and support we shared.
