Mr. Trey!

šŸŽHappy Teacher Appreciation Week! šŸŽThroughout our school partnerships, weā€™ve worked with thousands of amazing teachers. And truly, weā€™re impressed by every single one of them. This week, weā€™d like to take the opportunity to highlight three in particular who have embraced global competence to transform their classrooms this year.

Today weā€™re shouting out Treyvon Manning, a grade 1-2 teacher at Connect Community Charter School in Redwood City, CA. He cultivates a welcoming and rigorous classroom that centers strong student relationships and collaboration. He always encourages students to commit to the process of continuous learning and reflection while balancing high expectations with lots of support. Because of this, his students approach academic challenges with enthusiasm and joy. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week, Treyvon!

Connect lost a valued member of its community last week. Ms. Ma was a kind spirit who was so dedicated to her students and her own family. She was pretty new to teaching, and making so much growth in helping her students progress towards their learning goals. There wonā€™t be a public memorial or funeral, but you can come by Connect to add kind words or tokens to her altar in the next week if you have anything youā€™d like us to pass along to her family.
