MARKET UPDATE:

In order for a farmers market to prosper you need a bunch of things to come together.

Attendance is super important. Vendors will leave the market if cost vs profit is not worth it.
We went from 5 produce farmers last year to 2 this year.

In oder to receive fmnp coupons and tokens(ebt double up, you pay up to $25 and get free $25 in tokens) you need 2 farmers and they have to make at least 60 percent of sales.

The farmers collected a bunch of coupons from the community and instead of cancling the market we agreed to have a mini market with at least 2 produce farmers and other vendors that can take coupons and tokens. That was our mission, to bring fresh produce to the city of Rensselaer.

If the market picks up we can always add more vendors.

We will take today off and re-open on September 5th.

Yoga is still on for tomorrow at 5pm and a whole hearted thanks to OM Shanti Yoga & Healing Arts for doing free yoga in the park.

We hope to see everyone next Thursday.

Tomorrow, please join the Rensselaer Professional Firefighters at the Noth Station Firehouse at 3:30pm, as they send Captain Sleasmen off to retirement.
David Sleasman will be doing his final walkout as Captain with the Rensselaer Fire Department after 34 years.

The next Rensselaer County is scheduled for next month in Schodack. This is an opportunity for county residents to get their dogs and cats vaccinated for rabies.
The county clinic on October 26 will be the last one for 2024, with more to come next year. Helping to protect health, safety and quality of life.

Representatives from Reimagine I787 will be at the Market as well.
