Last week our ministry team had another outstanding baptism. Thank you guys for your time, hard work and dedication, to witness insides our facility.

Jared Swanson graduated from our GED program, we would like to congratulate him on all of his hard work to accomplish this certificate.

From 10-2:00 today we will be at Lowe’s in Richmond they are sponsoring a community and first responders event. If you and your family are out and looking for something to do stop by our booth we would love to have you.

Congratulations to Major Hall for being a recent graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy Class #45. Major Hall competed with candidates across the United States and was accepted after a lengthy selection process. The National Jail Leadership Command Academy was founded in 2009 with a partnership between the American Jail Association and Sam Houston University, College of Criminal Justice. NJLCA focuses on jail management, legal issues, and leadership.

Major Hall came to MCDC in 2022 after an extensive career in corrections, specifically county jail management. Major Hall has 30 years of experience, most of which he served in administrative leadership positions.

Major Hall is a Nationally Certified Jail Manager with American Jail Association and has attended the top national level correctional leadership schools such as the National Institute of Corrections- Correctional leadership Development. He also studied Interal Affairs procedures and investigations at The Southern Police Institute co-hosted with the University of Louisville.

Major Hall is currently enrolled and participating in three 09-month leadership courses with the National Institute of Corrections- Executive Excellence, and Jail Executive Institute co-hosted by Omaha University, College of Criminal Justice and American Jail Association, and Leadership Madison County.

Major Hall was instrumental in developing a 40 hour training academy for MCDC and holds numerous training certification which he applies to the professional development of staff. Major Hall is excited about future opportunities where he may better serve the Detention Center and community.

Congratulations to newly promoted Security Lieutenants Austin Ramsey and Andrew Hounshell, and newly promoted Class D Lieutenant Mitchel Grater.
