PRIORITY APPLICATION CLOSES ON MAY 15TH, 2024. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis afterward.

Qualifications: 
- Cumulative GPA must be at least 2.75 (applies to both Committee Chairs and Student Assistants)
- Must be willing to work an average of 10 hours and no more than 19.5 hours per week across all campus jobs (this position requires some weekends and evenings)
- Student Assistants must be a UCR undergraduate student enrolled in at least 12 units for the Fall Quarter
- Committee Chairs must be either a 3rd or 4th-year UCR undergraduate student enrolled in at least 12 units for the Fall Quarter
- To be a Committee Chair, applicants must have previous leadership experience

Students joined us to learn about the realities of alcohol and drug use on campus as well as tips to ensure they’re drinking safely. In the end, they had a chance to wear beer goggles to experience the effects of excessive and unsafe drinking.🤯

Joining us Saturday on the PERSIST MAIN STAGE at 11:30am is Yamiche Alcindor!

Yamiche is the White House correspondent for the PBS News Hour; the moderator of Washington Week, the weekly public affairs show on PBS; and a political contributor for NBC News and MSNBC. She often tells stories about the intersection of race and politics as well as fatal police encounters. She is currently covering the administration of President Joe Biden and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

She earned a master's degree in broadcast news and documentary filmmaking from New York University and a bachelor's in English, government and African American studies from Georgetown University.

We are so excited to bring Yamiche to help us celebrate the 5th anniversary edition of the Persist Women’s Political Engagement Conference along with many other powerful and dynamic speakers! Stay tuned for more speaker announcements!
