Western Riverside Council of Government's fellowship program is now open and it's a great opportunity for students who are looking for public sector work experience within the Western Riverside area. WRCOG is a member-driven organization comprised of 22 agencies in Western Riverside County. The fellowship program is a paid nine-month professional development opportunity that helps equip students to enter local government careers. The School of Public Policy will be hosting its inaugural Policy Innovator Awards Ceremony next Thursday, September 30th at 5:30 p.m. where we will be recognizing two policy leaders who have made an impact in our region: Randall Lewis (Executive Vice President, Marketing, Lewis Group of Companies) and Jesse Melgar (Director of Engagement, California 100 Initiative).

We will also have special prerecorded remarks from U.S. Senator Alex Padilla, California Governor Gavin Newsom, State Assembly member Sabrina Cervantes, State Senator Richard Roth, and more.

Students who desire placement in a specific course are encouraged to share their professional qualifications with the faculty member associated with the course they are interested in. Course descriptions and instructor contact information are available on the classes.ucr.edu website.

If you are selected as a reader for a course, you may not do any work until you have signed an appointment letter. Your identity must also remain anonymous to the students enrolled in the course. This position pays $16.40 per hour.
