Happy Friday! Because of God - the best is yet to come!
Our 8-week Life Skills program with the City of Riverside, CA - City Government housing clients wrapped up with the final day being about self-care with students from La Sierra University teaching about the importance of self-care. Also our guest speaker Sarah Chiu helped us make a beautiful stained glass jar.
The different colors of broken glass pieces used in the art project represented the brokeness in all of us & the light that was placed inside each jar once the art project was completed, represented the light of Jesus. The healing Savior who can make beauty out of anything!
Other topics we shared in our classes (with help from community guest speakers) included: personal hygiene, dental care, health/wellness, anger management, cleaning/organizing tips, how to be a good neighbor, healthcare resources, employment resources, County benefit resources & financial literacy.
So proud of these clients who are working hard on creating a new life for themselves! Please keep all of them in your prayers.🙏
❤❤❤❤❤

Happy Monday! 🥰☀️
This family moved from a shelter into their own apartment last week! We appreciate University homeless women center for sharing this picture with us.
We got to play a small part by providing a brand new refrigerator to this family.
Thanks to the kind & generous donation of two new refrigerators to us from our friends at Altura Credit Union for our new Furniture/Appliance program. The refrigerators came from
Many people moving from unhoused to housed need refrigerators in their new apartments, as most apartments don't come with that appliance. Oftentimes people have to live with getting ice everyday & putting it in a bucket or a cooler in order to keep their food cold. As you can imagine, that isn't a sustainable way of living.
If you have a good working refrigerator (apartment sized) that you want to donate to us, your donation is tax deductible & would help families in need in the Inland Empire. 🙏❤
Our goal is to help people get back on their feet & become self-sufficient. Your donations make that possible!

As a reminder, this Saturday is our Saturday Community Food Distribution, held every third Saturday of the month. This month of April is our Appreciation month, as we are celebrating our CEO's Donna Sautia four years of growing Lighthouse into the success you see today and continuing.🙌💕👏🎉
We hope to see you all there!

We completed our first Life Skills class of 2024 yesterday with the City of Riverside, CA - City Government housing clients. Classes are held at a community center in Riverside. Guest speakers included Health & Exercise Science students from La Sierra University. The students taught about the importance of personal hygiene & wellness. Clients also received great tips on the best ways to keep their apartments cleaned & well organized by Ifeanyi White of Executive Level Cleaning Services. And don't forget your teeth! Dental hygiene benefits & techniques for a perfect smile was shared by a nonprofit dental office. Smile Unto Him offers low-income people free dental work from Dentists & staff who volunteer their time. How amazing is that?❤
Classes will continue every Wed. until the end of May. We'll cover a variety of topics to help people integrate back into society & work on becoming self-sufficient.
👉Please keep our class & clients in prayer, as sometimes there is a fear of attending something new. 🙏❤

Super excited to share we've partnered with The Life Church to offer a 4-week Bible study class at Path of Life Ministries Emergency Cold Weather Shelter!
Such an amazing opportunity.🙏🏽
Minister Rosita from The Life Church prepares a scripture & discussion topic for the shelter guests each week.
We set up at a table & invite the guests to join if they'd like to. Some say yes, some say no. Everyone is welcome. We've been able to pray with people & our goal is to help pour out God's hope, love & encouragement into each person. We bring devotionals & of course a yummy snack each week as well.😉
It's a blessing to get to know the shelter guests & just remind them how much our Father in Heaven loves them & that they matter.
Please keep staff & residents in your prayers, as this temporary shelter closes April 1.
