UCR Tzu Ching

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2023 TCCA conference! We had a great time and encourage more members to come out next year! Here is a recap of all of the events our members participated in!

Thank you to everyone who came to our graduation and tea ceremony! We honored all of our seniors and presented uniforms to members who reached 20 hours of volunteering for Tzu Ching! We are so proud of all our graduates, we can’t wait for them to achieve great things!

We hope everyone has a great rest of summer, and can’t wait to see all of you back in the fall!

Today is the last day to register for TCCA conference! Here you can meet other Tzu Chi members as well as leadership development! This is a great opportunity so please sign up!

On 5/21, UCR Tzu Ching volunteers helped at a food distribution in San Bernardino! Here, volunteers assisted with traffic control and loading packages into cars. In total, we were able to serve more than 264 families!

Hello everyone! As spring quarter approaches, we’d like to announce UCR Tzu Ching’s annual community day event, which will he a clean up/hike up Mt. Rubidoux this coming Saturday!

We will be cleaning the trail of any trash in addition to our hike, which will be a great for members to bond and socialize !

Hello everyone! On Sunday, 3/12, UCR Tzu Ching will be participating in a medical outreach event!

In medical outreaches, volunteers get to assist with several health stations that are providing free clinical services. These include Optometry, Dentistry, Triage, and more!

This is a good way to get some exposure to some health professions, as well as direct patients and work with professionals!

On 2/16, UCR Tzu Ching had our 2nd general meeting for the winter quarter! In this productive meeting, our board members spoke about who we are as an org and what our mission is, as well as upcoming events/opportunities for volunteers!

We hope to have inspired many at this meeting to serve the underserved in our community! See you at upcoming events! (Will be announced soon)

Also, special thanks to our advisor, Tina SG for generously preparing food for all members at the meeting! We are very grateful :)

This past Saturday, 2/18, UCR Tzu Ching participated in food packaging! This event was held at Tzu Chi San Dimas, which is the national headquarters of Tzu Chi in the US!

Our volunteers helped package food into boxes that will be distributed to approximately 300 families!

Hello everyone! This Thursday at 6:30, UCR Tzu ching will be having our 2nd general meeting of the quarter! Please invite your friends and anyone else who might be interested in learning more about who we are !

Free food will be provided, and our social activity included writing valentines cards to nursing homes 😃

Hello everyone! On Saturday, 2/18, UCR Tzu Ching will be volunteering at a food packaging event! Here, volunteers will be given the opportunity to package the food we give out to the underserved. This is a good way to participate in more Tzu Ching activities, as well as get more involved in our community 🙂

On 1/29, UCR Tzu Ching had our first food distribution of the quarter!

Every quarter UCR Tzu Ching has many opportunities for food distribution events, so be on the look out for future ones!

On 1/26, UCR Tzu Ching had our very first general meeting for this winter quarter!

At this meeting, our board went over who we are as an organization and what our goals are, and afterwards we socialized, played games, and learned more about how our volunteers can get more involved with our community!

In addition to our general meeting, our first event of the quarter will be our food distribution on 1/29 at Jones Elementary School!

At food distributions, tzu chi volunteers will be able to participate in giving out food packages to families in the IE as well as see what it’s like to volunteer for Tzu Chi!

Hello everyone! UCR Tzu Ching will be having our first general meeting of the winter quarter this Thursday 1/26 at 8pm in skye hall.

At this meeting we will be talking about upcoming events and plans for volunteers this quarter as well as who we are and what our mission is.

After that, we will socialize and get to know each other! And food will be provided as well. We hope to see you all there! 😁😄

On 12/11, UCR Tzu Ching participated in our quarterly medical outreach! At this event Tzu Chi offers free medical services ranging from dentistry, vision, pharmacy, and more! Our volunteers were assigned roles at these stations, and were given the opportunity to see what it’s like to help others in a health care/clinical setting!

This Tuesday is giving Tuesday! Tzu Chi is collaborating with Panda Express where 28% of any online orders made will be donated to our organization! Save the date, and there are vegetarian options available as well.

On 11/17, Tzu Ching UCR and .ucr collaborated together for our Thanksgiving social! We got creative and made several letters for local nursing homes!

On 11/8, UCR Tzu Ching had our 2nd general meeting of the quarter. We went over the core foundations of our club as well as our past food distribution and our upcoming events for this quarter! And as always, we ate great food and socialized

Hey everyone! Our next general meeting will be this upcoming Tuesday, 11/8, at the Hub room 379, from 7-8 pm. We will be discussing who we are and what our organization is all about, as well and how you can get involved with community service opportunities.

Invite your friends and anyone who might be interested! We hope to see you all there! (there will be free food 😉)

Thank you to everyone who attended our 10/30 food distribution in San Bernardino! This weekend, we donated over 200 family servings to families in the San Bernardino Area, and were able to see some new and old faces from our TC family! Welcome to all newcomers and welcome back to our returners!!

As a reminder, our food distributions happen every 3rd Sunday of the month and our next distribution will be on 11/20! Sign ups will be out ASAP and will be due a week before the event! If you are interested in joining us, please don’t hesitate to contact us on IG or any of our other social media accounts! We’d be happy to have you in our ranks. 🙂

Additionally, our second general meeting is coming up next week 11/8! More information will be given soon but please feel free to come by!!
