Many of you know that the GAS kennel is now permanently closed. You may not know that Marilyn’s accident this winter has permanently impaired her ability to walk. The extent of her injury necessitates major changes in her house to make it wheelchair compatible, changes that she can not afford to make. A Go Fund Me page has been set up by family and friends to help. For details go to:
https://www.gofundme.com/greyhound-rescuer-marilyn-needs
Please consider a generous donation to Marilyn’s Go Fund Me campaign. It is the perfect way to thank her on behalf of all of the wonderful greyhounds she has helped find forever homes - maybe even yours!
Please share this message, Thank you.

Thank you to our adopters and friends for your support. The GAS kennel is now closed. Hank has been placed with Greyhound Pets of America Massachusetts (thank you, GPAMA). The five remaining dogs have been placed in their forever homes. Many thanks from Marilyn to everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes. Special appreciation goes to the GAS volunteers who worked so hard to maintain the kennel and help care for the dogs.
Marilyn needs to take a respite to work on some health issues. To give her the time she needs, the GAS kennel will close temporarily as soon as all of the current dogs are adopted. Our goal is to place the dogs in their forever homes as soon as possible. If you are thinking about adopting a greyhound, now is the time! To set up an appointment, call the kennel at 978-270-4528. If the line goes to voice mail, please leave your name and phone number. Marilyn will get back to you as soon as she can. You can learn more about handsome Hank, seen here, and all of the dogs available for adoption at www.greycanine.org.

Need help bringing wood pellets from garage to kennel
It's been a doggone cold winter and we need your help. Did you know the kennel is heated solely by a pellet fueled wood stove? The extreme, frigid temperatures early this winter have gobbled up the pellets. We have used over 3 tons of pellets so far! We are down to our last bags (see photo) and need to order another ton now. This is more than GAS has ever used in one winter. To help, you can donate money via PayPal on our website or send a check to the kennel or bring bags of pellets to the kennel. Please help us keep the dogs warm and toasty for the rest of the season. Thank you in advance for your continued generous support of the greyhounds.

HELP needed ASAP! We need immediate help - tomorrow, Thursday, Jan.11. We need strong people to carry pellet bags from the garage into the kennel. The kennel is heated entirely by a wood stove. With the subzero temps, the pellets have been used up faster than expected. We need to restock the kennel before the flooding rains and thaw predicted for Friday and Saturday. Any amount of time you can give is greatly appreciated. Reply to Marilyn on FB. Thank you!!!
