Fifteen years ago today we opened the doors to Leeward Light at 126 Bridge Rd. Salisbury, MA.
The journey has been a labor of love.
We have accepted daily donations of clothing and household goods from our generous neighbors. We have pleased many(many!)the treasure hunting shopper.
We have been blessed with hundreds of selfless volunteers and employees. We have donated almost $3 million dollars to local charities. We are a shining light in our community. So let’s celebrate!

Attention High Schoolers and retirees! Leeward Light Thrift Store in Salisbury, MA is hiring a Customer Service Rep at our Donation Center. The hours are Sundays 8:00AM- 12 :00 PM year round. This is a great school year job with possible summer job potential!
Donation Taker: Ideal candidates will perform donation taking, processing and storage duties; material
handling and facility maintenance duties. Skills/Qualifications:

●Ability to frequently lift and move items typically weighing 50 lbs. or more
● Energetic and able to work at a consistent pace
● Excellent organization and time management skills
● Ability to report to work on time and as scheduled
● Ability to listen and follow directions
● Positive attitude and willingness to help customers and co-workers
● Demonstrate teamwork, compassion and respect
● Outgoing and patient personality
● Solid work ethic
● Effectively communicate our charitable mission, objectives and activities

Responsibilities: Donation Table:


Setting up/breaking down donation table/area
Greeting customers when they pull into the parking lot to drop off donations at the donation table
Assisting customers with removing/carrying donations from vehicle to the donation table Determining whether a donation is “resalable” and meets Leeward donation criteria Politely say “no” to donations that that don’t meet Leeward donation criteria
Be courteous and polite with customers at ALL times
Provide customers with information about our charity including the charities we support in the community

Unloading, moving, storing and displaying furniture
Moving priced bins into store for employees/volunteers to display Cleaning and pricing donated furniture
Assisting customers with transporting furniture purchases from the retail store to vehicles Cleaning, sweeping and emptying barrels
Assisting with miscellaneous requests from the Store Manager
