Our Annual Easter event is happening now! We're giving away Easter basket to all the kids, as well as hotdogs and juice. We will be starting our Easter egg hunt in a little while. So come on out!

Today is our 7th Food Distribution partnership with San Antonio Food Bank. Food Distribution starts at 9:00 AM. Breakfast starts 7:30 AM for Volunteers. Truck arrives at 8:00 AM, breakdown begins on separation of products. Thank you for Volunteering to serve the VFW, Community, Homeless and Veterans. Dress warm. Commander

Veterans Day in the Canteen before 65 VFW members, Auxiliary, and Guests. Our Distinguished Guest was Council Woman Melissa Cabello Havrda. She recognized all Veterans from all services and thank them for their service to this great Country. Council Woman bought 40 plates for the VPR. Commander Juan Martinez, Jr., was assisted by Past District 20 Commander Armando P Gonzales, Sr Vice Commander Bruce Alford, Jr. Vice Luis Martinez, Quartermaster Julian A Zamarripa, Sr., Adjutant Joaquin Ramirez, Judge Advocate Lenny Layman, and Chaplain Lee Arnold. Auxiliary President Yvonne Mata and ten Auxiliary members provided support for the meal, side dishes and serving. The VFW also provided A DJ for the celebration.
VFW Post 9174 distributed its 3rd Thanksgiving Baskets on 18 November 2021. Chairman Bruce Alford (Sr. Vice Commander) did an outstanding job, did all the leg work for the third consecutive year, getting all the turkeys, items, coordinated with teachers, counselors and points of contact to each school. Passmore Elementry received 10 baskets, Anson Jones Middle School 10 baskets, Cable Elementry 10 baskets and one Basket to one VFW Member in need. Comrade Alford was assisted by Commander Juan Martinez, Jr., Jr Vice Luis Martinez, Quartermaster Julian A Zamarripa, Sr., Auxiliaries Rose Villarreal and Oralia Martinez. VFW Post 9174 giving back to the Veterans, Community, Needy Families, Families of Veterans, Homeless, District 20 Department and National. Commander Juan Martinez, Jr.
On behalf of VFW Post 9174, We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We are not back to normal and may never be as it was before. We continue to the best we can with what we have. Our Food Distribution have been a success thanks to all the volunteers. We hope it was a relief for needy families. Our next Food Distribution is on 14 December 2021. Due to the holidays, we are moving some events up.
We are asking for bicycle of all sizes for our Children Christmas Party, 1 – 3 PM, 11 December 2021. Your name will be on the bicycle, and you will be recognized as the donor. If two people dononate a bike, both names will be recognized.
The holidays are fast approaching. May the Good Lord bring Happiness and Good Health to all. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. May all your wishes be granted.
We would like to thank all VFW members, Auxiliary and Volunteers a well desire Thank You for supporting your Post, District 20, Department and National VFW. We could not do it without you. To all my Officers and Staff, thank you. To the Auxiliary President and Auxiliary, Thank You. To everyone that participates in the events, side dishes, baskets, 50/50, cleaning the kitchen and being part of the Post. To all our cooks and helpers, Thank you. If we left any one out, Thank you.
To our Canteen Manager, Joy Flores, that organizes the events, bands, booking of the Hall and more. Thank you. To our Bartenders, that serve our Veterans, guests and welcome you with open arms. They do a great job in keeping our Gentlemen likable. Thank you.
