Power is out at clinic now…so no phone service

I am back in the office today and hopefully on a regular schedule by next week. I hope everyone remained safe and sound during this trying week.

The City of San Antonio has officially put the city on lockdown. While medical clinics like mine can still remain open I have taken the following steps to help.

1) We will open only from 8am to 1pm Monday through Friday, 8 to noon on Saturday
2) I am not taking any new patients until April 16 when the lock down supposedly will be lifted which will limit face to face exposure.
3) We of course are taking precautions as per CDC recommendation.
4) If you are elderly, have a preexisting lung condition, or have a fever, cough or shortness of breath, please call to reschedule your appointment. COVID testing can be done by the Metro Health Department.

My clinic is still open...we are practicing the CDC guidelines for care in our clinic (for instance waiting room chairs 6 feet away from each other)...if you have any hint of fever, respiratory illness, cough please reschedule your appointment.

Announcement - My office will be closed on November 20th through 25th (the week of Thanksgiving). We will reopen on November 27th with usual business hours...thanks everyone.

I had a very upset patient this morning because I would not accept their multiple Groupon purchases. There has been some confusion with the Groupon and many of my Groupon patients continue to purchase the Groupons for continued treatments which I cannot allow at this time. The Groupon is meant for new patients to try acupuncture and is not meant to be used for continuation of treatments (and it does say on the Groupon site for my offer that it is only one Groupon per patient) . Unfortunately if I did allow this I would be out of business very quickly (as Groupon itself takes a substantial cut of the fee).

Saying that, if you are a patient and cannot afford to come without the Groupon discount, please just talk to me. Most who know me know that I am not here to bankrupt anyone. I will be more than happy to try to accommodate anyone.

A new Chick-fil-A opened near my house. I would not recommend camping out on concrete if you have a back issue even though free food is cool.

Have not posted in a while but just wanted to let people know that my phones have been on the fritz since Friday afternoon...we'll see if ATT get a nasty rant from me as the repair person suppose to come this morning.

Have been seeing quite a few patients with feet pain from the holidays, take a break every once in a while.

Had a great weekend with my brother and family and also my brother in law with his son came for a short visit so quite busy over the weekend.

The rain has caused some cancellations and reschedules...I have taken the time to catch up on some paper work.

Walking up one flight of stairs burns about 10-15 calories, taking the elevator or escalator burns close to zero.

I don't want to get political but there are good laws and bad laws and many that are both good and bad and you can argue till your blue in the face the merits of all of them. But arguing about a law should not keep people from working.

School time has started...watch out carrying all those heavy backpacks.

I am doing a groupon special for the next six days starting today if anybody has a friend or family member who wants to try acupuncture.

Acupuncture was first used for therapeutic purposes over 2000 years ago in China. How long acupuncture has been in use should really be a minor issue because scientific merits are not completely derived from the number of years it has existed.

One thing you must understand is that we do not practice the “traditional” form of acupuncture. The medical community does not sanction this form of therapy for a number of reasons, the main one being the non-scientific approach presented by practically all acupuncturists. You can have confidence and trust that our approach is unique and has a basis in anatomical science. It is our hope that your basic understanding can play an important role in convincing medical professionals that there is merit to our scientific form of therapy.

I hate to leave the gym I have been going to for 10 plus years but new one closer and cheaper.
