Today, our President and CEO, Jeff Webster, along with our Chamber staff, had a great meeting with TOYOTA Motor Manufacturing Texas Inc. The team was joined by Melinda Louden, Manager of Corporate Communication, and Stephanie Garcia, Analyst in Corporate Communications. They discussed involvement in Greater San Antonio chamber committees and councils as well as the future expansion of Toyota in San Antonio. We look forward to our continued collaboration!

The Military Health Institute UT Health San Antonio is proud to partner again with the Mays Cancer Center to host a Listening Session for the military community. This session will be on August 16, from 10:00 to 11:30 at VFW Post 76, downtown San Antonio. We will be offering a virtual option for those who are unable to attend in person. This will be a great opportunity for veterans and their families to discuss the needs they have when it comes to cancer treatment. We hope to gain insight on better ways to serve this community as they battle cancer. Registration is open to all servicemembers, veterans, and their families affected by cancer.

Another great addition to our team, we are excited to welcome Jim Scheele as Vice President of Membership!

Jim Scheele served as a Philanthropy Officer with the Friends of CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Foundation for five years, managing an energetic portfolio of prospective donors supporting CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital-New Braunfels. He also worked as the Director of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Economic Development Director at the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce. Scheele, a lifelong resident of New Braunfels, is a board member of the United Way of Comal County and a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

“I am excited about this role at the Greater Chamber and look forward to supporting the organization's mission and vision as the preeminent voice of the business community. Working with Jeff and the team, I am eager to help drive success across our region,” said Scheele.

Our 2024 Chair, Mario Barrera, moderated an informational panel for the Asociación Mexicana de Mujeres Jefas de Empresa (Mexican Association of Women Heads of Business). hosted by UIW International Affairs. Members of the Greater San Antonio Chamber included Claudia Galvan-Gil, CEO of Heart’s Connections, Madelaine Villamizor, CEO of Starbranding Company, and Aimee Vidaurri, Senior Associate at Norton Rose Fulbright, who are all originally from different countries but have made an impact in the business community in San Antonio.
