The Martin/General Dynamics RB-57F Canberra, developed in the 1960s, is a strategic reconnaissance aircraft tailored for the United States Air Force by General Dynamics. It evolved from the Martin B-57 Canberra tactical bomber, a licensed version of the English Electric Canberra. Initially, it served the Air Weather Service for high-altitude weather reconnaissance, atmospheric sampling, and radiation detection related to nuclear test monitoring. However, four out of the 21 modified aircraft were exclusively used for strategic reconnaissance in Japan and Germany.
