Join us for Hero Hangout!

The goal is twofold. One is to give caregivers an opportunity to knock out that to do list or simply take time for themselves. The second is for our Heroes to Interact, Grow, Learn, and Love. Each session presents a different experience. Activities may include, crafts, games, volunteering, enjoying an event in our community, or learning a new skill.

This month, we are going to watch Seussical the Musical at Wonder Theater. After the show, we will enjoy lunch together at Rico's.

We are excited to have a Drum On class with Jorge Ochoa, OTR. 🥁

Everyone has the same need to express themselves and playing a musical instrument can provide an outlet for creative and emotional expression. Rhythmic expression builds self-esteem and feeds the spirit. Whether through drums, maracas, or singing, music can be a motivating and fun way to learn. Instruments will be provided for all participants!

Wow, what a fabulous show! We had an amazing time at Lights, Camera, Fashion 📸 Eva’s Heroes Fashion Show and Luncheon!

Our participants were FANTASTIC on the runway showing everything they learned at Summer Enrichment Camp. They were absolute stars modeling their looks and DJ’ing the music for the show. They had the crowd cheering and we couldn’t have been more proud of them! ❤️

Huge thanks to our friend, the wonderful Michael Quintanilla for working with our Heroes for Summer Enrichment Camp and being the emcee for our show!

Lights Camera Fashion week is five days of Eva's Heroes participants learning from fashion pros how to put their best foot forward on the catwalk. Skin care and make up, hair sculpting and styling will be taught by local cosmetology students; shopping, wardrobe building and accessorizing by the very hospitable team at Dillard's North Star Mall, innovative DJ lessons by The AM Project, and the unwavering and dynamic leadership of San Antonio's own Michael Quintanilla! Together they will partake in an exciting week of building confidence and individual style, culminating in an amazing fashion show for Eva's Heroes family and friends.

Participants will also show off their new spinning skills at LIGHTS CAMERA FASHION, Eva’s Heroes Fashion Show and Luncheon.

Wishing everyone a happy 4th of July with friends and family!

What a great start to our 2024 Summer Enrichment Program! Our Heroes had so many incredible experiences for week one! We visited Morgan's Wonderland and Inspiration Island, cooled off at SeaWorld San Antonio Aquatica, hung out at Main Event and saw Inside Out 2, explored the Witte Museum and McNay Art Museum, and ended the week with a visit to the SEA LIFE Aquarium San Antonio and Hemisfair.

A very happy Father’s Day from all of us at Eva’s Heroes!

Our Heroes experienced all the hit songs and more at Frozen - The Musical! What an amazing production complete with special effects, more incredible songs, and talented performers! We also enjoyed hearing from the cast after the show. A perfect Broadway experience!

We had a wonderful Coffee Spot with Guest Speaker Emily Holl, Director, Sibling Support Project, Kindering on the topic of "Building a Community of Support for Today and Many Bright Tomorrows." Open to parents, adult siblings and potential caregivers in person and through Zoom, we discussed why and how to build a community of support to secure many bright tomorrows for our loved ones with special needs. Thank you to Emily for speaking at Coffee Spot and to everyone that attended!

Eva’s Heroes was honored to be a part of the NFL Alumni Super Bowl of Golf Qualifier! The event raises money for the NFL Alumni’s non-profit, Caring for Kids, and local non-profits. We were one of the local organizations that benefited from the event! Our Heroes had a great time and Eva’s Heroes staff coordinated the details for SBOG volunteers. And to top it off, the Eva’s Heroes team also received the Robert C Henderson “You’re the Best” Award!

🏐 Bump, set, spike! Eva’s Heroes had so much fun at our Volleyball Clinic with St. Mary's University Volleyball Team! Our participants learned techniques and volleyball skills from these amazing athletes while having a great time with their friends. However, as children with special needs become adults, many families find their social and support networks get smaller. Parents wonder who will help care for their child when they are gone. Siblings worry about the responsibilities they will assume. Join us to discuss why and how to build a community of support today to secure many bright tomorrows for your loved one.
