We are so excited to welcome our new Policy and Community Outreach Manager, Anthony Dang! 💚

Anthony utilizes both systems and design thinking skills within the policy arena to improve community well-being. Throughout his career, he has seen climate change be a driving factor in the decline of community health and uses this to drive his passion to fight for a zero carbon future. He hails from Seattle, Washington and earned his MPH in Nutritional Sciences with a focus on food systems from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining Climate Action Campaign, Anthony was the Policy and Health Measurement Program Manager at Blue Zones Project (BZP). In this role, he pushed for more equitable and environmentally-conscious built environment, food system, and to***co policies in partnership with communities across the country. He also co-led the Health Equity Diversity and Inclusion Committee, ensuring policy strategy at BZP centered the needs of communities furthest from opportunity. Anthony is eager to contribute his knowledge, skills, and passion to dismantle systems of oppression at the intersection of climate change and community health.

Tomas is an Orange County Climate Equity Organizer for Climate Action Campaign, working to advance policies that ensure environmental justice at the local level in OC. He studied at Irvine Valley College before earning a BA in Political Science at UC Berkeley, where his coursework focused on how systems of power are created and maintained. Tomas’ family hails from Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, and enjoys making food that connects with his heritage.

Prior to joining CAC, Tomas led his local chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL), where he has advocated for equitable climate policies since joining the organization in 2018. Tomas also serves as a Steering Committee member of the Orange County Climate Coalition (OCCC), where he has helped coordinate climate strikes, press conferences, and organized public comments. For the past several years, he has worked alongside CAC advocates to push for electrification, community choice energy, and climate action plans for the cities of Orange County. He is excited to continue this work for a climate justice future in OC as a member of the CAC team.

Meet an inspiring woman who empowers me. Nicole Capretz is a fierce climate activist and bold voice in San Diego policy and advocacy.

Connection brought me back to post today and reminded me how connected I am to my community and how this account started with the intention of connecting further through the power of food and need of nourishment.

A few years ago, with many scientists around the world came up with the on how to feed the planet without destroying it. While electrification was not a plan in the cooking process, we can understand that we have a blueprint on how to transform the trajectory of through what we do daily to nourish ourselves.

Nicole is connecting the dots for climate resiliency, for ALL of us to have a chance in the little time🥺 we have left to make big changes for our future. I’m just happy I met her through a great friend 5 yrs ago. My life is more authentically ME for it.

Discussions followed about started a Public Health Advisory Council for climate action and invited me in. Now we’ve grown to connect the healthcare warriors within this space and depoliticize climate change in healthcare.

My voice has been found in council meetings, summits, podcasts, keynote events, and other leadership events where I’m speaking from the heart on behalf of my patients, my kids and the vulnerable who are impacted most. My voice is always through that lens of climate health equity.

She is the holistic environmentalist you never knew you needed!

She keeps me whole. And I thanked her today for that🙏🏼☺️
