Our Story
The International Health Collective was founded by two undergraduates at the University of California, San Diego in 2013. It has since grown from a small student organization to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. IHC is still entirely run and operated by students and alumni, with members from various universities in addition to UCSD including SDSU, CSU San Marcos, Point Loma Nazarene University, and the local community colleges. The pioneering members of the International Health Collective sought to create an organization which promotes "humanism in health." To the members of IHC, this refers to a holistic approach to health and medicine, enlisting an interdisciplinary team to tackle big issues and create lasting, sustainable change. IHC strives to embody these values in its work and apply solutions that are community-based and sustainable.
