Heartfelt Gratitude 💕

Dear Rotary Club Members,

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude
for your incredible support throughout my educational journey. Thanks to your generosity, I am proud to share that I graduated just a week ago, a milestone that would not have been possible without your help. Your funding provided more than just financial relief; it empowered me to focus on my studies and pursue my goals with confidence.

Your belief in the power of education and your commitment to students like myself has left a lasting impact, one I will carry with me as I embark on this next chapter of my life. As to show my appreciation, I am attaching some pictures from my graduation day to share this special moment with you. Thank you for being a part of my success story. I am deeply honored and inspired by the Rotary Club’s dedication to uplifting others, and I hope to pay this kindness forward in the future as the world needs more of it!

With sincere appreciation,
Blen Alemu

From our Club's President Ryan.

People ask what makes being a Rotarian special and rewarding. These pictures are definitely worth the 1000 words. I met Blen when I was just new to Rotary a couple years ago when our then-president, Dan Hazel, brought her to a meeting. She was attending John Paul the Great University, came from Ethiopia and was having trouble making her tuition, room and board. It was an unusual situation for us but we came up with the funds to help. She has just recently graduated and gotten married. Life is good. This makes my heart warm and proud to be a Rotarian

🍂Mark your calendars for October 5, 2024, and join us for the The 42nd Annual Carlsbad Rotary Oktoberfest Fall Festival

🍻Presented by the Carlsbad Hi-Noon Rotary Club & Rotary Club of Carlsbad this year’s event promises to be unforgettable!

09/04/2024

The Rotary Club of Carlsbad invites you to join them at their October 10 meeting to hear a presentation on Mediators Beyond Borders International.

This presentation was given at the Rotary Convention this past June in Singapore and, as luck would have it, the facilitator has connections in North County and is available to give the presentation here locally.

The Mediator Beyond Borders International is one of only nine Official Service Partners of Rotary International because of a strong, shared commitment to global, grassroots and community-centered peacebuilding.
The working group of both Mediator Beyond Borders and Rotary International is a vehicle for advancing the common goals of both organizations. The group aims to build a working relationship from the local club to global leadership. This collaboration promotes common work in projects, advocacy initiatives, and international meetings of both organizations.

🕊️ More than 1,800 alumni of the peace centers program are advancing peace in over 140 countries, from leading local initiatives in communities to guiding policy development at the United Nations and other multilateral organizations.
🕊️ Nearly 300 Rotary Positive Peace Activators — collectively including Rotarians, Rotaractors, and Rotary Peace Fellows — have been trained across eight regions to work with clubs and communities on new approaches to local peacebuilding.
